Retake SAT Lit?

I scored a 720 on the SAT Lit subject test and was wondering whether I should retake or not? My concern is that I want to emphasize my strength in the English/literature/writing related areas on college applications (and perhaps pursue this area of study in college), yet, I scored a 720 on Lit and a 770 and 800 on physics and Math II, respectively. I scored 800 on the critical reading section, yet for some reason find the literature subject test rather difficult. Should I retake?

I think you should retake. A 720, while it is a really good score, will not emphasize your strength in literature. In fact, your SAT II as a whole scores emphasize your strength in math/science areas instead. By the way, the Lit SAT II is much harder than the CR section of the SAT, so your scores make sense. If you really want to emphasize your “English-type” side, then retake and aim for a 750+.
