I got a C in Econ 11 last quarter, and I was wondering if I can just retake it? I was able to enroll into Econ 11 again this quarter but is this ok? Would the grade I get in this class replace my econ grade from last quarter? Or at least be the one that counts towards my gpa?

Your new Econ 11 grade will not be recognized by the university. You can only retake courses which you have received a C- or below in. In that instance, both grades (your prior and current) will appear on your transcript but only the current would count toward your GPA. The grade will appear with an asterisk.

ask the prof to change your grade to a C- and then retake it. they will totally do this…just ask him ASAP

I did ask him… he would not do it unless there is a clerical error (like adding pts wrong)

Anyways, I asked him to regrade my final exam because I know I deserved less points on it. I got a C with 70.75 in the class. He didn’t give out C-'s. =[

If my grade lowers, then can I retake the class next quarter? I dont have to take it this quarter right?

You can take it whenever you would like. The only time you have to immediately repeat a class is one you get an I (incomplete) in.

zame? 10chars

yeah zame 10char

Repeating a course where you got a C is a waste of time. Here’s the official UC answer:

For transfer applicants, a course may be repeated if the student received a grade of D or F. UC does not limit the number of times a transfer student may repeat a course in which he or she earned a D or F. A student may not retake a course at a community college to raise a grade received at a UC campus. UC courses in which a D or F was received may be repeated only at a UC campus.

C- is considered repeatable
