Reuse Old Personal Statement or Write New One? [Transfer Reapplicant]

Hello all,

I am in the process of applying to the UW Seattle campus for the Autumn 2013 quarter. I applied for the Autumn 2012 quarter last year and unfortunately was not accepted. I feel strongly that this was because I was not on track to transfer with an Associate of Science.

The personal statement I wrote last year is strong and chocked full of still very relevant information. I also wrote a letter of appeal when I was denied, which I also feel is strongly-written.

My hope is that I may be able to submit an updated version of the statement I wrote. I hate to run the risk of someone recognizing it and denying me because of that, however.

Would someone be willing to take a look at my personal statement and let me know what I should do?

Thanks again for your time.

Regards,
Brandon

I wouldn’t run the risk. When you apply, you let them know that you have applied before. I doubt that they would pull up your old application, but I still wouldn’t risk it. Your personal statement may be good, but I doubt that your writing skills haven’t increased since you last applied. So, I suggest you rewrite it, even if it is about the same thing.

And I am willing to take a look at it. :)
