Robertson Scholars

What an awkward sentence.

My son did not get it either.

I have a random question. I was reading the Robertson Scholars webpage that listed what Robertson alums are doing now & I saw that Robertson Scholars are able (after graduation) to also get a full-ride to UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce to get a Masters in Business. Does anyone know anything about this? (I guess that makes sense since Julian Robertson has also been a major benefactor of McIntire.)

If you are selected as a semi-finalist, does that generally = accepted? Or are the two unrelated?

I wasn’t notified at all… weird. Did anyone who was named a semifinalist receive an e-mail today, or did they just send out rejections?

I was notified today of being a semifinalist for Robertson Scholarship–interview’s being held in various timeslots between March 4-6. Very excited, though I’m realistic about my chances of actually getting that scholarship. I submitted the additional supplement last December.

Would this selection of being Robertson semifinalist guarantee admission to Duke this April (unless I screw up big time this senior year)? I didn’t get a likely letter from Duke, so I’m left wondering if this suffices as a likely.

dprichey, my D did not receive an e-mail either, no rejection, no acceptance. Good luck!

I did not receive an acceptance or a rejection email. I did fill out the complete Robertson application, and you could say that I am a very strong applicant. Does this mean that I have no chance of being a semifinalist, or is it possible that there are more decision emails to be sent out in the coming days?

@ princess, being a semi finalist does not guarentee acceptance.

princess, im 99% sure it does, just so you know.

With deferral from Yale (and having asian-parents-who-wouldn’t-let-me-go-abroad-if-I-don’t-attend-a-Ivy League-or-the-like), I’d realistically be happier with a Duke likely letter which guarantees something. Semifinalist’s a huge deal, nonetheless, and I’d be ecstatic to be the lucky 36 recipients. Best of luck to all!

My D has been notified that she is a finalist…does anyone know how many move from finalists to receiving the scholarship…and any insight to the finalist weekend and what it entails?
