Are there any other AEM acceptances? It seems like ateamsteven is the only one on CC.

does Cornell send early letters to Arts and Sciences College applicants?

^CAS is not rolling.

CAS sends likely letters

Likely letters are mostly for athletes or VERY QUALIFIED applicants.

I received a letter today informing me that I would be receiving an Admissions letter after April 1, 2009. I applied to the College of Engineering. I assume that I received this letter since I will be finging out my admissions status from MIT at 1:59 p.m EDT tomorrow.

Arthur

Ah, I was wondering why a few people at my school have received decisions at seemingly random times.

Ok so have any international students received their letters yet?
Because I haven't got anything, and im hoping that thats because I live so far away...

Okay, I got into Cornell!!! I received the letter last Thrusday (March 12th), and applied to the College of Arts and Sciences. I still can't believe it. My GPA is a 3.65 (my rank probably top 20%), and my ACT a 30. I have lots of extra-currics, including playing the violin, and writing stories. My recommendations were great. I really think it was my essay and interview that got me accepted because I got a C in my 10th grade year (but I took AP Cal. AB that year too and Physics C the next.) This just goes to tell everyone that you still have a great chance of getting into college, even though you messed up.

good job pliverpool! you got your acceptance letter pretty quick - where do you live? maybe snail mail just takes forever to get from ithaca to california

Congrats, pliverpool. Go out and celebrate!!! Your post gives me hope that I will be accepted. Would you keep your fingers crossed for the rest of us still sweating it out please?

I live in D.C., so mail coming from Ithaca would most likely reach here faster than at California. Good luck everyone!!! :)

anyone hear from CALS bio major yet? i live in CA

I also got a letter that says i will be offered admissions to CAS. I was estatic to find out and i can't wait till Cornell Days!

I really like Cornell and all, but its not one of my top colleges. So I really hope one of my top colleges will accept me. I mean, Ill be fine with going to Cornell, but I think I will fit in better at a different college (Ivy-League or not).

Oh, and by the way guys, I was looking at a Cornell viewbook I received in the mail sometime last year, and the College of Arts and Sciences is not referred to as CAS, it's referred to as A&S. I referred to it as CAS in my essay and still got in, but it's still worth knowing...

I'm international and I just got my CALS letter! (Biological Sciences). It was also dated March 2nd.
I guess I can kiss homework goodbye tonight lol. I'm too excited to stay still.

congratsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Any current CALS students reading this who DIDN'T get the letter early and found out on the final day of decisions? A few kids at my school got their letters, and I didn't, so I'm wondering if this is an indication of my rejection. =[

I got my letter on Saturday, March 12th. It basically informed me in advance of my acceptance... I applied to the College of Arts and Sciences.

I do pretty well in school, but I think what really got me noticed was being Hispanic. I had the letter along with the profiles of two students of a racial minority. Additionally, the letter told me to contact the Multicultural Office if I had any questions. I thought that was sort of funny, but a little unfair to the rest of the kids in my class. Affirmative action, ftw.

Anyway, not getting a letter early doesn't mean you'll get rejected at all. It just so happens that a lot of people who got letters are posting here. The majority of students who are accepted don't actually get a pre-notice.

Good luck to everyone! It'd be so awesome to see you all at Cornell. ^_^
I mean... not that I'd know who you were...
