@walkingdead1480 I would call and ask for a re-evaluation of your application b/c i know peeps with much lower stats than yours ( about 2100 and 3.5 GPA) who got the trustee
As for my stats: SAT 2310 (didn’t expect it), 3.8-3.9 GPA, SAT II (BAD): 660 Bio, 490 Chem <- scientific skillz :-), 710 Math II, 740 Lit, 750 USH
I def agree with thejerseygirl, the whole system’s a lottery

@silazar
Do I call the financial aid department or call the Dean for a re-evaluation?
When should I do this, after I found out about other colleges in March or now?
Also should I submit new material? (ECs)

It’s probably cause my CR reading score was low… T_T. I’m ranked 10/400… sigh

@silazar that’s a crap-ton of SAT IIs. Why.
And if it cheers you up, I got a 650 on the bio! Then again, that was after a three year gap from honors bio and a few weeks of AP bio. Woooo

@mynameismott haha thanks, does cheer me up and my basket-full of SAT II’s is b/c my parents have this weird idea that I’m good at science (farthest thing from the truth) and the rest I took to make up for the bad scores on the first ones. Basically a cruel cycle :-)

@walkingdead1480 hmm good question i’m not sure but maybe call the financial aid office (just a suggestion) and ask about the new material submission. Also looking at your class rank, you must have a high GPA so it might have been an over-sight on their part (again my opinion not the absolute truth) —> check out this thread 'cause one poster experienced your exact dilemma (sorry if I didn’t post it right, new to CC and extremely confused with the workings) http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/rutgers/1028033-rutgers-presidential-scholarship-c-o-2015-a-3.html look at page 3

Could it be that I filed my FAFSA really early and they knew I didn’t really need the merit scholarship?

The thing is that she got 2380 on the SATs, which is probably why she got presidential.

Presidential would be great, but I’m really hoping for Trustee (10k) cause its the most reachable

I received a notification yesterday for the Presidential Scholarship for EBS and CAS New Brunswick!!! Surprisingly though, my SAT superscored was 2230… I guess because my M+CR were above 1500 that they bothered considering me?

Congrats swiftwind, you’re so lucky. my M+CR were only 1450, maybe thats why T_T

Just an update from post #32.

I did get Presidential! yay!

Got National Scholarship of $8K per year for SAS and RBS-NB.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ahhh I just sent in my FAFSA a couple of days ago. Will they run out of money before they can offer me a scholarship?

The FAFSA isn’t used for evaluating merit scholarships. As long as you submitted your application before December 1st and wrote the essay you will be considered for merit scholarships.

@golfbs14 what were your scores? and whats the national scholarship o-O

Does anyone know who I should call for a re-evaluation?

Emailed them, and they said they couldn’t upgrade it. I’m pretty disappointed.

How did you find out about the scholarship information. Was it posted on the portal or sent via email or snail mail. My D was accepted for Engineering, RBS and Arts and Sciences back in November and have not heard back as to merit scholarships at this point.

Email, or https://studentaid.rutgers.edu/new/default.asp

Did anyone receive merit scholarships for Pharmacy?
I see lots of posts for other schools, but I haven’t seen anyone for pharmacy.

Yes, I received Scarlett (3500 per year) to Pharmacy.
What is the trustee scholarship everyone has mentioned? I do not see it anywhere. I see a James Dickson Carr …

Honors the first African-American Rutgers graduate. This scholarship reflects our commitment to enrolling a student body that is broadly diverse in terms of experience, socioeconomic background, geography, special skills, and talents

Does that imply I need to be African American to be considered?

Can someone help me out? lol i didnt get any scholarship and i feel like i should at least get a little bit…

SAT: 2010
