Rutgers Spring/Fall 2011 Transfers!!!

Well, good luck in AU. :)

got put on the waiting list…what are my chances of getting in?? Should i go talk to admissions??

Was wait listed also. Under glossary it said to send grades in progress. Is this the same as spring grades? I did not apply to any other school. I now will have to wait.

baseballpplay, whats your stats (# of credits, GPA, hs GPA, SAT). When did you submit your app and how are your spring grades so far?

Hopeful91, YES it means your spring grades. Those will matter a lot.

Hey, just wondering if anyone’s going to live on campus, because I’m trying to figure out which campus to list as my top choice. Where’s everyone dorming?

I’m trying to live on Busch mainly because I’m majoring in engineering and that’s where most of the math, science, and engineering classes are. Plus it has the best recreation center, one of the better dining halls, and the football stadium.

Livingston has the Basketball stadium and a new student center. It’s not too far from Busch.

College Ave is where all the frat houses are and where there is a lot of partying. It’s right in New Brunsiwick whereas Livingston and Busch are in Piscataway.

Cook/Douglas is where the environmental sciences and animal sciences and those type of majors are.

Got wait listed, anyone know the chances of wait listed applicants getting in?

whats your stats malbanese.

i have a 3.3 at my CC right now and should be right there if not a little higher after the semester is over. i dont know why i didnt get in because my school has a transfer agreement with rutgers. i just hope i get in thru the waiting list…what are my chances lol

@malbanese41 Same here, just got wait listed last night, terrible feeling know you have to wait longer.

I do have the same question, I was wondering what my chances are of getting in after being wait listed. I did apply a day after the deadline, I dont know if me applying late factored into their decision.

In state student, transferring from a NJ Community college (Finishing up my 2nd year, 4th semester).
Applied to the School of Arts and Sciences
GPA: 3.20
Credits: 33 (more than 40 after this semester).
Extra Activities: 200 hours of community service, In a volunteer club at the community college I go to.

how many credits do you have malbanese?

Did you guys apply late? what are your majors?

over 40 and my major is criminal justice

Has anyone been wait listed and recently accepted. Is there a wait list pool? Just wondering who we are up against. This forum is slowing down. Tomorrow is the deadline for notification. Has everyone heard from admissions?

My major is Sports Management which is in the Department of Health and Exercise Science, Rutgers is my number one and I was just wondering if my stats are good enough to be accepted off the waiting list.

The transfer agreement is only effective when you receive your associate degree

Chando, It could be your GPA thats causing you to be waitlisted.

Hello all!

I’ve followed this blog ever since I applied so I could get as much feedback as possible on what my odds were of being accepted. I just found out last night (April 14, the night before the notification deadline) that I was accepted, and I figured I would return the favor for any future applicants who stumble across this blog. My circumstances are unique, but it may help someone out someday!

About me: Graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 2005 with a B.S. in Psych, and a 2.9 GPA. Served in the Army from 2006-2011. Applied to Rutgers as an out of state, non-degree seeking transfer in March of 2011, getting my final documents in at the absolute last minute. Admission Essay: Focused on my experiences in the Army, and how I thought Rutgers was the perfect school to conduct research in the pursuit of a graduate degree, AFTER I spent a year at the undergrad level expanding my knowledge-base and reacquainting myself with Psych. I did background research on all of the Psych Profs, and highlighted what they were researching, and how I would like to further that research by combining it with my own experiences.

They made me really nervous by waiting until the last minute to accept me, and I think I may have had a “bump” for my military experiences since a 2.9 undergrad GPA appears sub-par for the school’s admissions. Anyway, I hope this helps someone someday!

@bottlecap thank you, yea its not as high as I had hoped.

Another question, do you guys no how long it takes for them to get back to those who are waitlisted, and what my chances of still getting in are? I have already been accepted into the University of Connecticut so I dont want to wait to long and miss out on my chance of enrolling at UCONN.
