I'm living in rutledge next year, and I'm really worried. I've lived in Green Quad before, and I loved it. I saw a youtube video about how Rutledge has a lot of maintenance issues. Anyone wanna reassure me or give me any advice on how to deal with the issues?

Prepare yourselves for the church bells at every hour and half hour.

Other than that, my friends who lived in Rutledge had no issues.

For maintenance, I had epic major issues when I first got to Carolina as a freshman and I became buddy-buddy with the Maintenance team. (To plainly put it, my dorm room’s walls were leaking water and it sounded like a waterfall in my room.) I’d say 95% of them are super nice guys. I love North Campus Maintenance. They’re awesome and don’t mind getting calls.

Well it’s older and a re-do was postponed by women’s quad renovations but it has most space of any of shoe apartments. D will be living there for second year along with lots of close friends and loves it! (You will have great neighbors.)They didn’t have any major problems other than needing a good airing out/cleaning when they moved in (they lined shelves, etc.). Appliances are older so got her an oven thermometer to see how accurate temp was. They are replacing windows this summer which is a big deal since there’s a lot of red tape in doing anything that impacts exterior of historic building.

D never mention hearing church bells. I guess she got use to it! Great RM who is returning next year.
