Saint Louis University or DePaul?

Hi, I'm currently a 2nd year student at a community college in st. louis. I slacked off in high school and I'm doing better now in college. I have a gpa of 3.5 as of right now. I'm interested in both SLU and DePaul...which of these two schools would be better for Finance program? Also, which of them has a better financial aid program?

Thanks

DePaul. They have over 25,000 students attending, I'm sure that they can make room for one more.

44% admission rate for transfers at SLU
63% admission rate for transfers at DePaul

Avg indebtness at Depaul $18,053
Avg indebtness at SLU $34,538

The SAT midranges are about 20 points higher on each section for SLU, i.e. not much of a difference in the quality of the student body.

Apply to both if ya want. Looks like Depaul's the better way to go. There may be a slight difference in the job placement of their finance programs, but at this level I don't think it will be a very big deal. Both will get you a job and at DePaul you'll probably be in better shape financially afterwards.

With a 3.5 at your CC, you should be in at both. Maybe aim higher.

brand_182: Thanks for replying, I'm currently trying to raise my gpa. I'm hoping i can make all A's this semester and spring semester. I'm just looking for good schools around midwest area that are nationally known and have a good financial aid program. Any other schools i should apply to? I really want to go to UIUC, but their tuition rate scares me. Also, I heard public school's financial aid isn't that great? I hope I'm wrong though.

Considering Depaul is a private university their tuition will be significantly higher than state schools. I say apply to both schools and also apply to UIUC. See what happens and choose the school that offers more financial help.
