Sat 2090...

Is it worth taking the sat one more time (if I take it again it will be my fourth time) to increase my chance of acceptance at Duke? I think I can improve my score by 100+ points. Does Duke look down upon people who take the SAT more than 3 times?

Also I came across this website: http://blog.eprep. com/ 2006/08/03/taking-the-sat-too-many-times

Is what the website says true about DUKE? By the way my reading is only 660 math 750 and 680 writing. Thanks everyone. If I'm going to take it again I have to sign up today.

(Pretty much debating whether or not to take the test only to improve my chance at Duke though, no other schools; Duke is my first choice though)

dont take it...admissions usually frown 3+ times. btw, ur scores are fine

i personally would take it once more if u think u can improve more than 100 points...thats a big step. If you make that large of an improvement, it will be clear to the admissions people that you were able to finally exhibit your skills. If you cant increase it much, then dont take it...a 2090 is ok but not great. It basically depends on how prepared you are for the test. If you are confident you can increase it 100 points then do it

the thing is i sent my 2090 score to Duke already, if i don't improve by much i dont need to send it and they will never know i took again right?

are you a senior?...if so, then you would need to send it as soon as you take the test for it to get to Duke on time for them to consider it in admissions. If you are a junior, then yes..by all means take it and see how you do.

IMO, I doubt that SAT scores are used to tip the scales in favor of or against an applicant. That's just my $0.02.

Yeah, I don't see a need to take it again, especially if you've already taken in 3 times.

It won't be your SAT scores which get you in- that's for sure.
If it took you three times to get a score which is below Duke's average, if you get in to Duke, it will NOT be because of your SATs but rather other factors you might have.
