SAT Essay Disaster

Were there more than one essay topics? I had a different one.

I don't know why, but I think I remember reading somewhere that CB gives different essay topics to people in different parts of the country. For example, the essay topic on the east coast might not be the same as that on the west coast.

I don't think it was about writing about someone, rather using them as examples to discuss your main idea. I went with something along the lines of "The greatest accomplishments didn't have due dates" that all of the best discoveries were not rushed. My arguement agreed with that in that great things take time to come to light.
I used the examples of Thomas Edison, on that people thought he was crazy throwing away his time and life, when really he invented the light bulb. I also used the anecdote : Rome wasn't built in a day.

I think you couldve gone the other way and say people shouldn't do things their own way. Like due dates make people motivated to finish accomplishments faster.

EH. i don't know.

lets keep this off topic and see how crazy he gets. i haven't had a good laugh in at least 2 hours.

I thought was my essay was pretty good but reading all this mine probably looked like a load of crap.

I said that many discoveries were accidental findings with intelligent conclusions. One of my examples was how Fleming accidentally left bacteria out and blah blah blah (I can't remember...I had actually learned about it the day before the SAT so it was fresh in mind). I said the common man would not have made a connection, but Fleming had devoted a lot of time to his studies which caused him to discover penicillin.
Bleh, is that too off-topic?

I now think I just completely bombed the Writing section.

Michelangelo and Oppenheimer.

What would you give mine based on what my outline looks like..I wrote on this on the SAT on the 28th

discovery of compass...not only physics, but was invented during the renissance period in which philosolical aspects were implement to individualism
-development of firearms..also physics and also, the technology aspect in understanding war tactics..hydrogen bomb --> nuclear weapons

I had no idea what to put..but I used these examples

The topic about discoveries btw.
