SAT II Chemistry Dilemma

I have to take the SAT II in October, but all my preparation ahs been during the summer, and I've been able to study for many hours each day. I've taken a couple of practice tests, made a decent amount of flashcards, and read the entire Barrons book. However, I'm worried I'll forget information as school starts and as I get busy with APs (although I will be taking AP Chem, but I'm worried I'll forget info that isn't covered in AP Chem by October).

Also, if you're wondering why I'm taking SAT II Chem without having taken AP Chem, it's because I took Honors Chem last year (forgot most of the stuff, but then restudied it all over the summer) and am getting around 700-750 on practice tests (including 740 on a real CB test, but could have gotten 770 if I didn't make stupid mistakes).

I am aiming for an 800 but will settle for 750+. I really can't afford to forget information or do poorly. Any suggestions?

I’m in the exact same boat as you. I have the same situation down to the T and also have the same score goal. I got a 720 on the real CB test also but would’ve gotten higher if it weren’t for a few mistakes. Anyways, my plan is just to keep rehashing the information every weekend and the week before as well. (P.S.: I am taking Math II as well in Oct)

I agree with ModelT. After school starts, refresh your memory of the material every day, even if it seems like you don’t have time. Just remember to focus and be careful on test day. Besides, there’s a pretty large margin of error for an 800, I think. I took the chem test nearly four months ago and got a national percentile of 93, but I still got an 800. As long as you’ve learned all the material, keep practicing and you’ll get your scores up by October.
