didn’t hardly prep for it, did practice on SAT website 2 days in advance, would recommend reading poetry/shakespeare but lit is hard to study for
it was the hardest test of my life, but i pulled a 700

I bought the Barron’s prep book, it helped me a lot and I got a 780. I recommend it. Lit is hard to study without some sort of guide, and the test is pretty hard, so you should definitely get a book.

Personally, I don’t think you need a prep book to do well on the exam. I think Lit is something you build over the years, as opposed to cramming by prepping last minute. That being said, a prep book could boost your score if you remain diligent and practice.

Otherwise, I’d recommend using CB’s official book and taking the practice test offered for Lit in there. I did that the night before and scored in the low 700’s. Walked into the test room feeling okay and came out feeling like I scored ~650. It’s one of those tests that you really need to focus and pace yourself during the testing period. Bulk up your knowledge on poetry and drama if you want to up your score; those two sections prove to be the hardest on the Lit test, by far. I remember looking at the 17th century diction in the poetry section thinking, “I’m definitely getting a 600.” Make sure to practice your weak spots to ensure a better score!

I ended up with a 790 so don’t doubt your ability! Best of luck (:
