So i have already taken the SAT twice, once in June of 10th grade and again in June of 11th grade. The first time i got a 1940: 700 math, 600 reading, and 640 writing. And then recently i got a 2220: 700 math, 720 reading, and 800 writing.

I once heard that taking the SAT more than twice isn't highly looked upon and i want more time to focus on my other clubs and classes. Yet i know that many people have competitive SATs. Do you think i would benefit from taking the SAT one more time in November, especially if i am planning to apply to the ivies?

Three is generally considered OK even for ivies. But I’d only do it if you have a real chance of raising your score. Once you hit 2200+ your score won’t go up by default anymore. If you take practice tests and you’re hitting 2300s then yes take it; if you stay the same I would recommend against taking it, just to save money.

Im pretty sure as long as you have 3 or less, its alright. More than 3 is usually frowned upon. Try taking it one more time, you never know what might happen.

I’ve read the “Frowned upon” comment before on this forum & no one has ever validated it with any solid evidence. I’d take the SAT again & perhaps the ACT once.
