For most BS/MD programs...what are the typical SAT ranges for those accepted??? 2200+???

yah i would assume 2200-2400
unless you have something unique

many of em consider math and verbal only...

so to be competitive, i'd say 1450+

I agree with the above. However, some programs are for minority students only. They need much lower SAT scores to enter (~1200 M+V).

I would say 2000 +

most programs look at old scores only.

therefore, I think 1350+ is a must.

Do programs weigh heavily on the SAT at all?

its kinda like this: you need the "semi-high" sat score to even get the admission officer to look at your app or a chance for a interview. once you get the interview, the sat is not that important.

many of the programs have a cutoff of 1400.

yea many i've seen is 1400 at least

so they dont discriminate as long as ur score is above 1400?

I would say you should have at least a 2100 or 32 ACT to have a decent chance, but it really depends on the program. For example, HPME's AVERAGE is around a 2300 SAT and a 34 ACT whereas GW's is 2100 SAT and 32 ACT and PLME's 2200 and 32.

But remember, scores are really only for an initial screening really...they care most about your clinical experience and essays

its like the thread's name...they come in ranges....

suppose there's a cutoff of 1400...they'll prolly separate you by ranges, as in like maybe 1400-1450, 1450-1500, 1500+....and place you in those categories...same with everything else, like gpa, ec's, essays, etc...and will make it like a gigantic venn diagram....the people who end up at the middle will prolly make it.

ohmygosh i love venn diagrams.

seriously, i love them.

Most programs will consider only your score at a single sitting. Unlike undergraduate admissions committees, they do not use composite scores.
