So I made the horrible decision of waiting to send my SAT scores at the very last minute. I sent them on December 22 (just a week ago), with no rush shipping, and my order is still processing. I have about six colleges that have January 1 deadlines. Does this mean my scores need to reach them by January 1st (if so, I’m screwed), or be postmarked January 1st (I could still be very screwed)?
if anyone knows specifically by school, the schools are: NYU, Northwestern, Boston College, Emory, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt
As a general rule, most colleges give you a little bit of leeway in getting your scores, in terms of a few weeks. Since they even accept scores from the January tests, most don’t mind if your scores take a while to get there. You might want to check with the specific colleges to make sure, but you should be fine. Also, your schools will probably get to the colleges pretty soon if you sent them a week ago.
I ordered them December 22, but when I check on the College Board website, it says my order is still “processing.” But it’s been seven days now! How long can it really take before they send? I want to make sure my scores are at least postmarked January 1!
I think CB sends out all the scores in one batch since it is done electronically. The next scheduled release might not be for a little while but it should not affect your app since all the scores will go out at the same time.
The other possibility is that the order was sent but the colleges are currently on break and haven’t downloaded it yet. Either way, you don’t need to worry.
