SAT score. Need your advice !

Hello.
I am an international student.
I have already taken the SAT test and got 1300 for CR and Math sections.
I an going to apply to colleges in the U.S.

Is this score OK for international students to be considered for a GOOD and HIGH scholarship or fin. aid in the US colleges?

The thing is that this score is reletively high. However, some colleges have scholarships, where the minimun criteria is SAt score 1350+. So in this case, in order to be considered for these awards, I have to retake the SAT test and improve my results (in CR I have 520, in M 780). I have an option to retake the SAT in January using Standby Testing.

I come from a poor country, and my family is not so rich; so I am looking for a big (not necessarily ful) scholarship or fin. aid.

I really need your advice.

Write please what you think about my score and the option to retake the test.
Also, write what you know about Standby Testing. Does it have some disadvantages? Is the score using Standby Testing available at the same time as the scores of other guys?

sorry to burst your bubbles, but i don’t think your score is strong enough for getting full-ride/good scholarship/financial aid as an international.
first and foremost, except for some top schools, most of others don’t even have financial aid for international students; in other words, they need you to be able to afford everything. besides that, international pool is going to be extremely competitive. think about it this way, there are a lot of students who have been living in the U.S for a long time (some of them speak English better than their native languages) but are still international students due to numerous reasons.

maybe you should consider some state schools. they do offer some good merit scholarships to international students.
