I don't know much about these tests except that one of my top two schools requires that you take three of them. I looked on collegeboard to try and figure out which tests I should take, but I only became more confused. The counseling at my school is very good, and I don't want to have to rely on them to help me choose which tests to take. If anyone could give me any insight, that would be great!

which schools?

John hopkins requires 3 as far as I know, if you plan on going to medical you should probably take Biology + Chemistry subject tests. Math 2 is usually a fairly easy one to do well on.

You need to give more information. What year are you? What AP classes have/will you take? Have you taken precalc? What are your strong subjects?

JHU & Gt strongly suggest submitting 3 tests (as close to requiring as you can get ;)), is it one of these?

Think about the subjects you’ve taken recently, and the ones you’ve done well at. Test on your strengths, the things you remember or feel confident that you can recall after some review. But also consider that which test you take depends on your intended major. As a general rule, Math II and a science SAT are required for engineering programs. Check the subject test requirements for every school you’re applying to.

I’m a senior. I took AP Bio and AP English Language last year and I am taking AP Chem and AP Calc this year. I had precalc sophomore year and Calc 1 (a prerequisite for AP Calc which is more like Calc 2) last year. Gt is one of the schools. I’m not really sure what I want to major in. I think I’m pretty strong in math (but I’m not very confident with calculus) and chemistry and I do well in English, though I’m not a big fan of it. I like US History but it isn’t very fresh in my mind.

Definitely take the Chemistry and the Math II. The furthest math the test covers is pre-calc, and all you really need to do is review the formulas and concepts from algebra on. It might sound like a lot, but it’s really manageable. The US History one is really factual, but the curve is pretty good. Check out the practice subject tests on the collegeboard website, look through a few questions, and see which one you’d do better in.

The concepts on the Math 2 are not difficult, it is more about being fast and accurate. Go to the CB website to see some sample questions and the topics covered. You will need to review old concepts, not learn new ones.

I would not recommend the Chem Subject test unless you plan to self-study as you need to take the test this fall/winter and haven’t completed AP Chem yet. USH is the same as Chem, if you haven’t taken AP USH, you will need to self-study.

Bio would be good since you took AP Bio, but it’s too bad that someone didn’t tell you take the Subject tests last spring when the information was fresh and when you were sitting the AP test which is more difficult.
