I was just wondering if my SAT score is at par for UCLA. I got a 2010 (750W, 690M, 570CR), but I've heard that the critical reading score will hurt me a lot. I thought that since the writing section was especially added because of UCLA, that they would like a better writing score than critical reading. Is my SAT all right for UCLA?

ugh…your CR reading score is really too low. I’m not saying it’s not possible; it’s just that you don’t want to give them any excuse to reject you, especially all the UCs are extremely dogmatic in their admission process–number, number, numbers…then essays and ECs.

on my previous sat i scored a 620 on cr, but i only got a 1920. should i send in both scores so they know i have the potential to get in the 600’s in reading?

definitely send both. I would only suggest not sending it if you got a reidiculously low score on the first SAT. 1920 is only 90 points short of your best score. for the colleges you are applying to, you dont want anything in the 500s to be your best score

They do consider your CR more than writing so your high writing score is not going to overshadow your low CR score. You need to focus on getting your CR up and possibly getting that math above a 700. You can do it if you put the work in. Just curious are you OOS?

nope, im in state, thankfully. and to the previous poster i am going to retake in september. I thought that getting into the 2000’s would be good for UCLA, guess not.
