Technology promises to make our lives easier, freeing up time for leisure pursuits. But the rapid pace of technological innovation and the split second processing capabilities of computers that can work virtually nonstop have made all of us feel rushed. We have adopted the relentless pace of the very machines that were supposed to simplify our lives, with the result that, whether at work or play, people do not feel like their lives have changed for the better.

Assignment: Do changes that make our lives easier not necessarily make them better?

Most people tend to think that easier lives mean better living conditions but this is not necessary the case when we talk about technology. Indeed, rapid technological development and inventions like microwaves, radios and televisions provide human with tremendous benefits and entertainment. However, the potential hazardless associated with high technology interfere and interrupt our lives negatively even before we realize it. Smart phones and Internet Freedom can demonstrate my perspective because they are both convenient to use while hurting or affect people badly.

Smart phones can be one of the most powerful inventions in 21th century because it condenses various electronic devices function into one small machine and perform perfectly for hours. Sending message, making voice calls, navigating and playing music, all these can be done easily with assistance of smart phone. Moreover, the build-in Apps make smart phones wonderful work assistance. Smart phones seem like flawless devices until people start discovering the negative effect brought by smart pone radiations. As communication tools, smart phones generate radiations all the time and create a huge radiation net covered even the remotest corner in the world. Even though this makes communication easier, human bodies hurt severely by radiation causing headaches, dizziness and even innumerous neurological and reproductive effects. According to recent scientific research, scientists are able to conclude that radiations have negative effects on auditory nerves. Easier for people to communicate but harmful to human bodies, smart phones are not necessarily making our lives better. Besides potential physical damages caused by smart phones, negative psychological effects associated with smart phone cannot be ignored either.

More and more people are attracted by build-in apps and spend substantial amount of time to read from and play with their cell phones while ignoring face-to-face communications with their closest friends even relatives causing lack of warmness between each other. Similar to smart phones, using of Internet also has negative impacts on human lives. Moreover, unlimited Internet Freedom provides potential access of illegal information to the public. people like under age children somehow lack of the ability to resist such information, which could possibly harm their mental health. Thus, technology indeed makes our lives easier but not necessarily better.

In conclusion, technology, a double-edged sword, can provide us unlimited benefits only when we utilize them correctly and properly.
