Scared I'm Not Good Enough :(

Hello so I've been lurking in the threads for some time. I'm amazed at all the things most of you have done. And then there's me the joke (Current Junior) :|
Stats:
Unweighted GPA: 3.9
Weighted GPA: 3.98
AP World History -2
AP English Language and Composition: Currently Taking
APUSH: Currently Taking
ECs: "Math Club" (2 Months ...Teacher got busy)
"Historical Society" (1 Year History Club)
"Rise Up" (1 Year Raise Funds for Undocumented Students)
I'm a joke :(
What should I do to improve my overall view. I really want to go to a great school.
I was thinking of volunteering at a Homeless Shelter (Personal Connection)
Any other good places ?
Any good ECs I should look at?
Anything I should do to improve my status?
Should I take self study APs?
My senior year I was going to take...
AP Environment Science
AP US Government
(FYI: Attend a small charter school, 4 School EC, 7 people got accepted to top notch schools in the 10 years it has existed)

ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREAT :)

Yep, you’re doomed for community college, never going to get a Bachelors degree with only a 3.9. Thanks for trying, better luck next time.

Wow people overreact here a lot! Only a 3.9 gpa, test scores matter as I have heard. Those are more ec’s than half of the people in my entire school take. That’s my two cents

@iLikeTrains2,
It’s because most of the people here are overachievers and drive each other crazy in making comparisons. I know it drives me crazy and makes me think my schedule with 5 AP’s is $&*#…

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.

“Scared I’m Not Good Enough”

Not good enough for what?

HYPSM? Well, you’re probably not. Neither am I. Neither are most people, even most people on this website, even the ones who make you feel especially bad about yourself.

For a good college? There are a lot of good colleges, many of which you would probably like more than HYPSM if you looked around a little. And I don’t mean that in a conciliatory way, either.

I’m not over reacting D: I seriously want to go to MIT or Cal Tech. I thought I was crappy I’m not over achieving. A 3.9 GPA according to my school who has a really weird grading system ( No A-, A+, B+, B-, C+, C-, D, F) They grade in a 0-4 Scale (0= “F” 4 = “A”) Well thanks for telling me that I’m doing decent . Seriously I thought I was doing pretty bad compared to the majority of the people on these forums. I come from a “ghetto school” where 40% End up in CA Colleges 30% Community College 20%Out of State 5% Ivy League

That’s the way my school does it too. It’s not really that weird. This is the 1% on here, and I’m sure plenty of people lie too.

That’s what my school does. I think + and - is weird because it’s just more…nitpicky, and you have to worry about more.

Honestly if you get a great SAT or ACT score you’ll probably get accepted everywhere besides the T20, and some of those would definitely be reachable.

EC’s only matter for the tippy top tbh.

I hate people like this. You have an UW 3.9, ■■■■

If you think you go to a “ghetto school” and 5% of kids who graduate go to ivy league schools and 95% go to some type of college, you have a seriously distorted view of this world.

I agree, you’re overreacting a bit. Maybe not MIT but probably CalTech. I know a bit about it particularly because I’m half an hour away from it :D

K. Thank you to those who actually provided helpful information.

Don’t care  Either provide beneficial feedback or don’t post at all

Your probably right. At least they got some sort of higher education.
