Schedule Help?

Hey fellow CCers, I know most of you guys are tired of seeing these schedule help requests, but please just one more. :)

So, I'm a sophomore in GA, and my grades from fall semester aren't quite the best. I want to spend the next two years bringing them up, so I can still have a chance against my supersmart peers. I'm coming from a math and science magnet school (super smart kids).

In college, I want to have a double major of Biology and either Creative Writing or English. So, basically what I'm asking is:

a) Do you think these classes will be manageable?
b) Do you think this schedule shows rigor to college admissions people, assuming I make mostly A's and an occasional B?
c) How were any of these classes for you?
d) If any of these classes are available online for less than $300? Also, I don't live in FL so I can't take FLVS courses for free or anything.

Junior Year, Fall Semester

AP Chemistry
AP Language and Composition
AP US History
AP Calculus AB

Junior Year, Spring Semester

AP Biology
AP Literature and Composition
AP European History
AP Calculus BC

Senior Year, Fall Semester

AP Environmental Science
BPE (the mandatory physical education class at our school)
AP US Government
Multivariable Calculus (equivalent to a third-year Calculus course)

Senior Year, Spring Semester

Honors Physics
Health (also mandatory)
AP Macroeconomics
Honors British Literature

Your junior year schedule looks incredibly tough. That would be very difficult to manage getting good grades in all those classes, especially seeing how they’re crammed into a single semester

Thanks, blackandyellow for replying. I have since changed my schedule to this. What do you think, would this be somewhat okay?

Junior Year, Fall Semester

AP Chemistry
AP English Language and Composition
AP US History
Math IV (Trig, etc.)

Junior Year, Spring Semester

AP European History
AP English Literature and Composition
AP Biology
AP Calculus AB

Senior Year, Fall Semester

AP Human Geography
BPE (the mandatory physical education class at our school)
AP Calculus BC
Honors Physics

Senior Year, Spring Semester

Honors Gov/Econ
Health (also mandatory)
Multivariable Calculus (equivalent to third-year calculus)
AP Psychology

That looks more manageable. Just don’t forget to take into account the fact that your effort will likely significantly drop second semester senior year (don’t say it won’t, everyone says that and yet senioritis still gets them in the end!)

Haha, it probably will. I remember I had the worst bout of senioritis last year as a freshman. Mostly because of the seniors I hung out with. Meh, it comes with the territory. Thanks again. :)

I noticed something interesting about this schedule - does your school cram in all of the material you’ll need to learn for the AP test into one semester? And then (for 1st semester classes) expect you to remember it all in May at AP test time? That sounds incredibly stressful. Except for the AP English classes, I think you could do those in one semester.
However, your schedule looks very impressive!
My experiences with these classes (keep in mind for my school, these are all full year classes):
AP Chem - easy. But that is probably because my teacher is so laid back. Acid-base titrations are tough though. Hopefully I’ll figure out how to do them before our test on Thursday!
AP English Language - it was fine. You could manage this in one semester.
AP US History - SO HARD. AND SO MUCH WORK. AND SO STRESSFUL. The AP test was easy though.
AP Euro - this was fine too. Definitely less work than APUSH.
AP English Literature - it is fine. Just like Language, you could manage this in one semester. However, unlike Language, this test requires you to read novels prior to the test because there is a free response question where you choose a book and write about it (they do not require any particular novels, but there is a list of recommended ones). This might make it more work than Language.
AP Biology - I loved AP Bio! And since you’re also going to be a bio major, you probably will love it too. And enjoying the subject matter makes a class so much better! Plus, this class was not hard at all (but not very easy either).
Honors Gov - This is my theory about Honors Gov: Since AP Gov is offered (and from what I’ve heard, it is not hard), Honors Gov is VERY EASY. At least this is how it is at my school. However, I’m not telling you to take AP Gov, since you will likely have senioritis at this point, and calculus to deal with.
Hope this helps!
