So if I were to finish my junior year with a 3.5W GPA and a 30 or greater on my ACT I qualify for a scholarship at UA? Just wondering cause I thought I was no where near the range, but I had a 3.4w after sophomore year so I can possibly bring my GPA up to 3.5 after this year. Then of course I would need the test scores but I’m just curious.
Also if I did not get a 3.5 after junior year will they take my GPA after my senior year for a scholarship or no? And if I do fall short maybe like a 3.4w GPA can I still be considered for any scholarships? Just trying to gain as munch info as possible.

Thank you for the helpful links. So unfortunately it is only the GPA from 9-11th grade. I did read this though, “Generally for scholarship consideration, an entering freshman with an ACT of 24 or SAT of 1090 (critical reading and math) and a cumulative 3.0 GPA will be reviewed.” What are the chances of me actually getting some scholarship money if my stats are slightly below? Do they give it to a good amount of students or is it impossible if your below the stats?
Sorry, chargers312, but no one here is actually affiliated or employed by UA. We are all parents, so we cannot really answer that ?. Work hard and try your best!

The chances of you getting a decent sized scholarship if your stats are below the req’t are VERY low. If you’re OOS, then the amount would be particularly low in comparison to tuition. Also many of those odd awards are for ONE year only.
I don’t think it would do you much good to get some token $1k award when a 3.5 and a 30 would get you about $13k per year. HUGE difference.
Work hard and finish strong this year.
Also take the SAT. You may do better on that.
Are you taking any AP classes this year?
Yes I’m taking AP English, AP History and Honors Computer science really wish I knew this from the beginning of the year considering the huge difference
Well if those APs and honors classes are all weighted, then if you get A’s in them, you’ll probably boost your GPA enough.
You might talk to your teachers and share with them this situation. then ask what you can do to increase your grade by the end of the school year.
I am not sure of the accuracy of this, but my friends have said that Alabama will accept you GPA calculated by another college. So if you apply to other schools that recalculate GPAs in your favor, let Alabama see that. Just keep studying. Don’t bank on loopholes.
@bamagirl18 I’m not saying that isn’t true. I have just never heard of Bama accepting how another college calculates GPA. Did these friends actually have that done for them? Or are they just thinking that others may have done this.
And how would a student submit to Bama how another school calculates his GPA in a way that Bama would trust its accuracy? This just doesn’t sound right.
