So when do we hear about our scholarship package?
have any of you guys heard? if so what did you get and stats (yes i know...invasive and a lot of work...but it would be pretty neat to get a gist of who gets money lol)

ineo42 - Based on the link below (specifically, Corinne's two responses), it looks like they will start mailing scholarship packages this coming week and financial aid packages will go out around March 15.

Good luck!

RIT Brick City Ambassadors - Are you one of the lucky ones?

awesome! thanks so much

well…no scholarship so far…anone get theirs yet?

Nothing here.

My S is still waiting.

My son got the Presidential Scholarship. Letter came 2 days ago. Hope this helps.

i guess if i haven’t got one by now, i’m not getting one…oh well

No, ineo, don’t give up hope! According to a blog on RIT’s website, they are now saying that a lot of merit scholarships are going out this week.

I guess you didn’t see my post on another thread:

From an RIT Blog entry, by Corinne of the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office:

“But, wanted to say that we are sending a ton of merit award letters out this week. We are reviewing applications major by major. So, your application is being evaluated along with all other applicants in your major. This is why a friend applying to RIT may receive a different award at a different time.”

See entry at bottom by Corinne (7:25 AM on March 4):

Something came in the mail today.

Anyone else?

I received the President’s Scholarship.

I also applied for need-based aid but that award has not come yet.

Bass,
Same here, waiting on the full financial aid package to get a full view.

Have you heard anything from Case?

dang…i didn’t get anything…I woulda thought a top 10%, 32 ACT, and 4.1 weighted would get me something
anyways,
congratulations to all those who got one!!!

gtelvis

Nothing from Case yet, but I applied late. I’m from Cleveland and I applied there as a backup. I know they meet 100% of need but I think a lot of the “package” is loan money.

We’ll see.

ineo42

Also top 10% but I have 4 years in PLTW. That might have helped.

Bass,

Case is your backup to Vandy, for engineering?
What’s the thought process there?

Today, I got the presidential scholarship! I got accepted for RIT’s International Business program.

Stats:
Place: NorCal
SAT: 2020
GPA: 3.96 UW, 4.4 something W

gtelvis

Not sure what you are getting at in regard to Vandy and Case.

Case is in the mix of colleges I applied to for several reasons: I should get in, they meet 100% of need, the app was free, and parental pressure. Case has a good engineering school but I live here and maybe know too much about the school. Like most students, I’d like to get out of town.

Vandy is my first choice but I’m not naive and know my chances are slim, so considering Vandy a “dream” choice is appropriate. I tried to be more practical in the rest of my applications.

Just curious since we’ve got some similarities in schools.

My understanding was that Vandy’s engineering program wasn’t that highly ranked, but I never really gave it a close look.

I hear ya about putting some space between the high school chapter of your life and college.

My S just got a letter from the Admissions Office (with a sticker) congratulating him on getting accepted and saying if he has any questions to please call.

As he has not gotten a scholarship yet, my fear is that this letter was sent to anyone who is not getting a scholarship.

So, my question to those of you who have gotten a scholarship is: did you also in the past week get a separate letter (and sticker) congratulating you on your acceptance, etc.?

If the answer is no, I think this may mean that my son is not getting a scholarship.

No, no letter and sticker. However, do not read anything into that. They have lots of different scholarships and the awards for each may go out at different times.

And don’t underestimate the chances of mail being slow or misdirected.
Do not assume anything yet, although I understand the anxiety.

My S got a scholarship and the letter with sticker. They came at different times. Hope you get good news!
