Scholastic Art and Writing 2010

^There’s no number listed under the FAQ for California :(

Lame lol.

How are you guys going to submit your poetry?

I have 3-4 poems but they don’t have anything in common.

Senior and submitted a poem ;D

Single poem?

I’m debating whether to do individual poems or poetry collection.

Another question:

For word count, do the titles of stories / poems count?

I did a Journalism entry. crossing fingers

I submitted as an eight grader and ended up with five gold keys and a national silver. Definitely will be submitting again this year.

I have a question. If I’m apllying for scholastic art&writing but no one in my school knows I’m apllying- can I just mark myself as home schoooled?

In my case, I am a freshman but my current teacher doesnt teach ****. They said I should just put down my school (when they publish you they write it under your name). Any teacher can sign your forms. (The teacher that you feel best, or your parents?) If you are 18, you can sign your own. I’m not sure about homeschooling. They can’t link you to your school? You should probably call them. Sry.=( Hope this helps.

Hey, to warn you guys:

For the writing, the checklist for individual submissions says to include two copies of each piece of writing you submit.

cool,thanks.

Oh. Thanks for reminding us Lumi :]

I’m almost done my General Writing Portfolio. The entire thing is verse–I know there hasn’t been much success with this in the past, but poetry really is my strongest area and the genre I’m most passionate about/have had more training in. I figure it’s important to submit your “best” work, even if it’s all Science Fiction or Dramatic script, then explain why you chose it all in the Statement of Purpose.
Good luck to everyone who’s entering.:)

I emailed them asking what could I do to make up for the fact my teacher can’t sign my submissions.

But they haven’t responded and I don’t know what to do ): Any suggestions?

ur principal?

for my region information it says only one copy. thats what i did last year…

We find out in 1-3 months if we’re winners of our region, right?

Ahh three months is so far from now O.o

Hmmm, I’m not sure if I should print two copies of my ~40 page Senior Portfolio. Does anyone who’s doing the Portfolio know what to do for the cover page – if anything at all?

OMG! so the past three years i’ve sent it to region at large since i live in cali…however, this year we now have an affiliate and i just got my e-mails that they MUST be in their hands by the 8th and postmarked isn’t good enougH!
WHATTTTTTTT
OMGGGGGGGGGGGG
i am freaking out!!!
i jsut setn it out overnight and the lady told me i t wont get their until saturday : (

am i doomed? : (
are they really going to be that strict? my heart is breaking here guys : ( i know i sound melodramatic but this was my last yearrrrrrrrrrr!

^I would call/email them and explain the situation. Maybe they will be understanding! Good luck I hope everything works out okay :]

Can we still go back and revise our word count/page number on the Online Registration after the deadline has passed? I know we can’t add anything, but is tweaking okay if we want to make last minute changes?

^Never mind, they said they weren’t too stringent about exact word count.

I did poetry, humor, and personal narrative :]
