Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

thank you so much, vegangirl! The suspense was killing me.

Now all I have to do is wait for another month.

Oh boy. Oh, did they call you or did they e-mail you?

has anyone from the NYC region who won regional gold for writing heard anything?

i won 2 gold keys for humor writing, but have yet to hear anything conclusive...just wondering where everyone else (if there is anyone else!) is at!!

shorties- they called me.

Urgh...has ANYONE heard ANYTHING from region at large???

This is driving me insane!

I don't think so. I assume that the list of gold portfolio winners included RAL though, yes? Sigh. I also entered a lot of other categories, though, so I'm still waiting.

here's the list of gold portfolio winners, for all who are interested:

It's weird that there are three schools that each have two winners.

We haven't heard anything yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is completely BS!!! It's entirely BS!!! I'm definitely not submitting next year. I spent soo much time on my essay (region-at-large) to take this S###. Even registration went horrible wrong. I had to misspell my teacher's name because they wouldn't let me reg. her real name (for some odd reason) (even though she had reg. properly and everything)

I've sent repeated emails, with no reply, and I'm just not taking this bs next year. Hell No!!!! I'll write for another sch.

do i need teacher approval or someone to sponser me if i wanted to do this?

You need a teacher or counselor to sign your entry sheet.

Could someone answer this questions...?

Have winners in "smaller" writing categories (short story, humor, etc.) been notified yet? (I know that portfolio winners HAVE been, and that novel winners HAVEN'T been... but I haven't read anything about other categories).

Sorry if I missed the answer to that question... I've been away, and while I tried to read all of the replies, I admit that I started scanning =)

No, nobody in my class has been notified yet, including me. My sister is sure to win something for poetry, and she hasn't been notified yet.

I've been digging around a few places on the internet, and if you just Google the 2007 awards, a few schools come up with the announcements, so some regions HAVE been notified. I saw one page with a HUGE list of winners for all categories.

whats the URL to the page with the huge list of winners?
link?

The winners have been notified in specific regions. However, Region-at-large winners in individual categories have not been notified - at least that's what I'm hoping.

Yeah honora and LesOs I haven't heard anything for RAL and I applied in smaller categories...

yay!!! i've finally been notified from the region-at-large! i found out that i won a gold key for poetry...now, i just have to wait longer to hear from nationals. i'm from CT, if that helps.

Adelaide, by email or phone??

actually, by mail

Sweet, thanks. I feel a little better than I haven't received anything yet.

Did we establish whether or not they notify you if you didn't get anything?
