EmmyBet – this is a good idea for a thread but I wonder if it would be more useful to break this up a bit differently and make it more general. For schools that have call back weekends and/or don’t notify people to the end, I’m not sure it is a big distinction as to whether or not the school has Fall auditions.

It seems to me the major categories of schools are as follows:

Rolling Admissions (school that will notify applications on an ongoing basis regardless of when a student applies)

Early Decision (if student commits to school as his or her first choice and auditions by a fixed fall date, school will make an early decision that is binding subject to certain conditions)

Early Action (if student auditions by a fixed fall date, school will take early action that is non-binding on the student)

March Decision/No Call Back Weekend (regardless of when a student auditions, decisions are not made till March and either most or all of the candidates are further reviewed at a call back weekend)

March Decision/Call Back Weekend (regardless of when a student auditions, decisions are not made till March after all the candidates have auditioned)

To avoid confusion, I think we should just use this thread for grouping BFA Acting schools.

If you or others think its a good idea to break them down this way, I think the schools I’m aware of and/or are listed here break down as follows.

Rolling Admissions – U of Arts, Point Park, Shenandoah, Evansville
Early Decision – BU, NYU
Early Action – Hartt, Emerson, Wright State, Adelphi, Montclair State
March Decision/No Call Back Weekend – CMU, NCSA, Depaul, Syracuse, Webster
March Decision/Call Back Weekend – Rutgers, Juiliard, Minnesota-Guthrie

I think some of the details like distinctions on scholarships and exact dates is probably too much detail.
