Science series at UCLA and taking them at a CC?

So I'm a science major, and I've taken Biology 6 and Biology 7 at two different community colleges. Both these two classes together are equivalent to LS1. Some girl in my class told me that UCLA won't accept my Biology 6 and 7 from two different community colleges as Life Science 1, and is the reason why she's repeating Biology 6 at the same college. Is that true? :(

Typically, this is okay as long as the curriculum is equivalent. When I applied, I split a year sequence of General Chemistry in two semesters at two different CCs, which were equivalent to the Chem 20 series. Where there are hang ups are when the curriculum is significantly different or if you’re switching between CC’s that use different terms. For example, if you go from the quarter system at one CC to the semester system at the other. Also, generally if at both CC’s the two courses have similar titles on Assist.org and together meet the equivalent for LS1 you should be okay.

If you’re still uncertain (and even if you aren’t) it’s probably best to contact a UCLA admission officer by phone (310) 825-3101 just for clarification. That way you can make any appropriate changes at early as possible and not waste time taking a class that you won’t be able to use.
