Score Predictions

I forgot, I might have it still inputted in my calculator, I will check it out in a little bit.

How did you guys get 6 for the jill problem? wasn't it like 400 meters, and she was going 40m, 10m/sec, she was going 2 faster then the other guy, = 8? or am I thinking about something totally different?

lol...I completely guessed on that one...I think i put C or H...whichever corresponds.

btw. I'm talking about the p-distance one.

bashi, do you remember the answer choices for the jill problem? I totally forgot.

actually, now i remember. I put either 6 or 8. I dont remember cuz i completly guessed Lol!!!

I'm pretty sure the answer is 8, if someone can prove otherwise?

I am a first time ACT taker, but to me it seemed like the veteran test takers would think the ACT science today was easy. I just thought while it was hard, it may not have been the hardest test.

Dr10, you have to keep in mind that some of the people here are intense/good test takers. Im definately not one of them! I second-guess myself a lot.

Ahh, now that jill problem is bothering me cuz i dont know whether i put 6 or 8, but i remember looking at the answer choices and i guessed based on that. I think if another answer choice was 12, i put 6 because i thought that since 12 was half of 6 it was a trick by the test makers.

Did anyone else realize how many parts on the test related to the African American population? First the one about Jazz and civil rights, then Auntie Ochoo, and the lake on the math section was shaped like Africa. Isn't this like the opposite of the oarsman-regatta problem? btw- this isn't supposed to be a racist comment, just an observation...

Even though I am not white, black, or asian; I did notice how they were trying to "diversify" their reading.

About the Jill problem. I think it went something like this:
Jill and Matt start in opposite directions on the 400m track. She passes him after exactly 40 seconds and is going 2m/s faster than Matt is. What is her speed?
If she passes him after 40 seconds, she's 80m further than matt. They would meet after she had travelled 240 meters and he had travelled 160 meters. 400-(40(x+2))=40x...x is Matt's speed

Her speed was 6m/s and his was 4m/s. It was the only choice that worked.

For the second part, it asked for her time for the 9th lap or whatever. It was a simple average problem. Answer was 90s

Third part was just unit conversion. His speed was 16/3 or 5+(1/3) m/s.

was 6 B? lol im so confused.

^^ 6 was C
ok this is how i did it
i just plug in the numbers
so 6(40) + 4(40) = 400
thats my reasoning

Hmm....then 8 was D. I dont remember what i put, but i know for sure it was B-D, just dont know which one i chose! Maybe i chose 6.... oh well! just one problem :(

Does anyone remember the order of one of the english questions about jazz. Was the 4/5 paragraph suppose to be placed after the 1st paragraph?

(there was only 1 order question in the whole test, so someone must remember!!)

I think there was more than 1 order question but i think I put that one after the 1st paragraph. I know I put one of them after the first paragraph and I made no change to one of them.

There were actually 2 I think
With the jazz one, ya I put it after the first
With Auntie Ocloo (getting her own ten shillings) I put that "between the first and the second"

now i remember auntie ocloo, and i put between the 1st and 2nd too :) Good! Im usually bad why the rhetorical questions....

me too! :)

hey wat was the one with the prime number
u add two prime numbers and u get a prime number
wat must one prime number be. I put 11. Cause 11+2 = 13

I put one because 1 + 2 = 3

Did it have to be the largest or smallest? I don't remember.
