Is there any point in doing this? Many IB info overlaps with info learned in AP, so what if I take both exams? Do colleges care? Would they think it is too "studious?"

There are my courses. I don't have any social studies/histories AT ALL. Would this look really bad on my transcript? Would taking AP history exams help me balance this flaw? Is there a point in taking two arts?

You may want to check the colleges you are considering attending whether they accept IB HL credit and AP credit, to determine whether taking any additional AP tests beyond your IB HL tests will give you any useful credit.

If you’re trying to impress colleges, you might better spend the time working on ecs.

i’m trying to figure something out here…
if you are going to take the IB diploma, you MUST have a group 3 (social studies) course (either Business and management, Economics, Geography, History, ITGS, Islamic history, Philosophy, Psychology, and Social and cultural anthropology, Environmental Systems and Societies, or world religions)
if you are using your environmental systems course as a group 3 course, then you must have a group 4 (experimental sciences).
for the diploma it is not possible to take two arts unless you are taking one as a certificate in ADDITION to your 6 classes required for diploma.
pm me if you have any more questions!

D is IB diploma and has taken 6 APs and due to take 3 more this May. IB is not a great way to get credit for individual classes, so she doubled up on AP exams in many subjects to hedge her bets, not knowing which school she’d end up at and what their policies are. FYI, though - the exams are very different and in many cases the content is very different. I’m sure it can be done with self- study but IB has very specific units which do not overlap well in many cases with AP exams.
