I'm going to take the SAT I as a junior in June (I know many that took it in April) but I don't even have a finished "college list" as of now. When I registered, it told me to give them at least 4 schools to send my scores out - how can I send to schools when I don't KNOW what schools I want to send out to?

The first 4 are free, right? So if I don't check that option (i.e. type any schools into the field) can I send my schools NEXT fall when I'm applying to college? (free of charge?)

Yes, first four are free. It's not necessary to put any colleges on there, but if you don't, you can't save this option next fall. There's a reason why they're giving it to you for free - because you have until the test day to make up your mind. Otherwise, everyone would take advantage of it if it could be extended to the fall.

The only way I know of sending it to the schools is to obtain the school code, which is located at the school website. Click into Undergraduate Admissions and find the SAT/ACT tab (or something related).

and no, you don't have to find the school code. when you send the scores next year, you can type the name of the school you want into collegeboard, and they will generate the code for you
