Niquii, that’s why those Fl PrePaid commercials kind of annoy me. All I can think is “You’re forcing your kid to stay in this state. What if he/she doesn’t want to stay here anymore?” At least UF and FSU aren’t too bad.

Ooh, Niquii, you could do all of those small scholarships that are for any college. There’s a ton of books filled with all kinds of scholarships/grants.

Hmm maybe I’ll fill out a ton over Christmas break. It is sort of confining me to Florida. Like, yes, the money can be taken to any college you want, but the best financial option will be a Florida public college no matter which way you turn it.

Not a senior, but…

Not having morning classes.

Leaving home/freedom, taking classes I will actually enjoy, meeting new people, partying, essentially starting over in a new place… and doing my own laundry.

^same here! Execpt for the laundry part cuz I already do my own laundry.

Just a fresh start and a new place to explore.

Freedom, interesting classes, partying, guys, a chance to redefine myself, higher level performing opportunities, a new set of friends, exploring and living for myself :)

I’m looking forward to living in the Northeast! But I’m a California girl
I’m excited for snow, guys, dorms, being in classes with people who are actually motivated, playing piano in soundproof practice rooms, learning Russian, studying abroad… oh man, so many things… don’t even get me started.
Independence is a big one, though.

I just read through this and am just LOL’ing. Oh man that 1st semester is so eye opening.

I just want the freedom. I’m another Floridian staying in Florida because of prepaid and bright futures, but it’s no big deal. I should be going to UF, which is a big improvement over SoFla to me. And at the very least there’s a 365 days/year riding season in Florida.

I’m planning on living off-campus from the beginning. I’ll enjoy having a private bedroom and bathroom and only having to worry about cooking for myself.

Also looking forward to more intelligent girls that actually have a future, unlike a lot around here. I won’t have to deal with the families of girls I date. The guys should be less thuggish and better behaved too, which will be nice. Of course there are going to be a lot of idiots who just got away from overprotective parents, so they don’t know how to handle freedom, not looking forward to that.

I’m excited to get to know new people. I’m excited to have a new adventure in a place where no one knows me. I’m excited to not have to wake up for school at 6 am because there’s no way I’m taking any classes that start before 9. or 10. I’ll figure that part out when the time comes.

Having friends for once in my life

No more taking standardized state tests. Instead, I’ll get to remind my fellow education classmates that they’re idiotic.

Freedom. New people. Better foods. Laptop. Learning. No more English (at least not freshman year).

I can’t wait to get out of Florida, to actually enjoy school again, to be around people who share my passions, to live in a city, to see snow, and have some freedom!

@mmm don’t hope to see snow in some part of the north. Also don’t wish for a snowy winter or you’ll experience a full and tiresome winter.

Snow>86° weather in Dec

It’s 77 here, and, although dressing for the weather is somewhat awkward, I love the weather. I can’t complain.

@Aero You’re not staying on campus? I mean, it’s two years of dormitory that’s paid for.

Nope. I completely refuse to share a room with someone who will in all likelihood be an unhygienic slob, and a bathroom with everyone else on the floor. It’d be different if I was a girl, they seem much cleaner and more mature than many college guys. But I don’t think they’d let me stay in a female dorm lol, so I’m headed off-campus.

Wow. I can’t imagine making a mess in a small room.
