Seoul National University

thanks guys, haha! there's a reason why my screen name is Curious Kid...lol

so is Ewha's reputation as good as say SNU, Korea and Yonsei? All i know is that South Korea's first female Prime Minister went there, can't remember her name...but i think she's still in office right now....:)

No, Ewha is not as good as sky.

snu

yonsei, korea
seogang

Ewha

seo gang can;t be that high
I would say

1.SNU

Yon Sei, Korea
Big gap between 2nd and 3rd

Sung Kyun Gwan, Seo Gang

Ehwa (its a girls university....not right to be a part of the rankings)

spark15: i don't think anyone can understand what you're writing...can you please write it in English?

It depends on Majors...... Pohang or Kaist is stronger than SNU in engineering, and Medical or Dental school of Yonsei is on par with that of SNU...Law or Political science major in SNU is traditionally stronger than that in Korea Uni.(My rough translation of spark's post)
If you choose a major and compare Korean colleges, however, snu beats almost all Korean colleges in the major. In addition, I don't think engineering of Pohang or Kaist is stronger than that of snu.

have u heard of han dong dae school? to my knowledge it's an international school where i almost went (but chose to stick with ccc to get another shot at ucla). anyway, is it any good?

I don't know much about the school, but I think it is a good school among ordinary schools.

hey curious kid you are a korean and you don't even know how to read that ?man~ you got some problems
even though you are a second generation here, you'd better know how to read that ****. otherwise, you got NO IDENTITY!! you are a lost person
( i know my english is bad^^)

haha shortie88, I'm not a Korean!! I'm a Chinese girl from Hong Kong, currently at Wellesley.... I'm just asking about Korean unis cos' I'm really curious, plus most of the ppl who i admire happen to be Koreans for some reason... and they went to SNU and Ewha;)

It takes only couple of minutes for people to get general idea of your identity. Please be yourself.

??? huh?? are you talking about me? I'm confused...

oh..my bad
anyways ,sounds good that ppl who you admire happeen to be koreans

ccfaithful, not sure what kind of misunderstanding you have about me, but if you look at my posts from last year, you'll know that i am indeed being "myself" ;)

Curious Kid, I am so sorry for my mistake; I confused you with other poster.
After checking your posts, I realized that I was wrong.

haha, that's alright :)

Thank you. You are Good as much as Curious.

hey Curious Kid,

My mom is from Ehwa, and as a women's college it is highly pretegious. Yet, as mentioned previously the Korean IVY = SKY which is SNU, Korea Uni, and Yonsei. SNU is like the Harvard of Korean and let's say Yonsei is the Princeton lol well these are just fantastic analogies so just bear with me.
If you ask me the rankings would go like this SNU>Yonsei>Korea Uni.
The reason why a degree from the ivies are more welcoming than any of these SKY uni. is obviously because it's reputation world wide... But if you are gonna live in Korea then graduating from any of these uni.s are highly regarded.

You should keep in mind that entrance to a Korean university is veeeeerrrrrry competitive, especially if you are a Korean studying in Korea. That's why even Han dong Uni. and etc still hold relative reputation. However Universities in Seoul are mostly favored since its the great capital, just like London.
If you are interested I can post you the whole University ranking but the most obvious ones are SKY, ehwa, Han yang Uni, Kyung hee Uni, KAIST, Jung Ang Uni, Catholic Uni, etc etc lol anyway...
i've talked too much

dash님 물론 연대가 전체적으로 약간세긴 하기만 부분적으로 고려대가 연대보다 훨씬 강력한 부분도 많습니다.

thanks very much for the detailed response dash!! :)
hehe, i think i'm getting a bit obsessed with things to do with Koreans mostly cos' i had this major crush on this Korean guy at MIT who's doing his Master's degree.... hahaha!!

hope he's not a CCer! ;)
