didn’t you get like only one wrong on this section? calm down you’ll do great im sure.

^ Noooo, I’m saying that it asked which one was correct.

EDIT: Nahhh, I’ve gotten a few wrong. We haven’t even discussed the section with the British lady writing about America. That was my worst section :x

CLARIFYING MY POST: The colon is correct grammatically. It was an except question. The “as a result” was the CORRECT ANSWER.

I remember as a result was the answer, nice.

I don’t know if this has been clarified yet, but for the question between “one should lock one’s bike” versus “you should lock your bike”, the answer is certainly “you should lock your bike”. For the sake of parallelism, since the second half of the sentence included “you”, it would be consistent to go with the latter choice.

I put the riders, was there a you later in the sentence?

Yes, plus it said something like “the riders’ bike” which is inaccurate, as presumably each rider would have his/her own bike.

Man I can’t remember any english questions. They are all the same :P

I can only remember math and reading questions lol

the question about the last sentence of houdini? ; which or no change?

What about tilts vs. is tilt

^tilts. 10 char

For question 71, “newspapers but not Shakespeare” vs “newspaper, but not Shakespeare,” I chose the answer without the comma because I thought that if it was left in it could be read as “They were afraid of (or whatever) men who read newspapers, but they were not afraid of Shakespeare and women who worked in factories instead of as maids.”

I spent like five minutes on this question; I think I changed my answer three times.

why does is tilt not work?

^Tilts. It’s singular.

Same question as nish, was it no change or ;which?

sentence said houdini was reinventing himself; it …

there was a question in the rice season passage that had this “the harvesting and processing (ARE) an communal activity that strengthens the bond…”

The answer was IS correct? It was consistent with the other tenses in the surrounding sentences.

I forgot the question, but it had some with the word “instead” and commas. What was the answer if anyone remembers? I put without any commas.

Also, the choices for one of the “which one is least acceptable” included “<stuff about=”" colors=“”>; as a result" (It seemed like it should’ve been a “because” instead of although) and “<stuff about=”" colors=“”>: more random words" (colon didn’t fit, right?.. it’s not a list).</stuff></stuff>

Sorry for the lack of specificity!

is tilt is also singular

Oh, there was one question in the bicycle section about the Chinese system being adopted __ the US. Was the correct answer (the one that doesn’t fit) “to”? I believe the choices were by, to, across, and throughout.

The answer was “:as a result”
