September 2011 ACT Discussion and Socres

36 or 37 zeros in between 6? I got 36

Yeah it’s 36

i got host a play. the passage repeatedly said that the townspeople were getting “tired” and he was sure that the actors would come; this supports my answer (sense of unity). Furthermore, before the line reference (fairly sure there was one) it discussed the play in the barn, not his move to the lake house.

i remember being very sure of the answer that said “sense of unity and his ability to persuade”.

anyone know the answer to the 3 questions about the parking lot with the flagpole and lights?

It was sense of unity for the actors coming to the barn. jd, what did you put for the question eeforme is discussing?

the first one was 2000/50

the second one i dont remember

the third was half of the area of the garden i dont remember the L and W

one was 5,760, two were 60, and the last i don’t remember.

unfortunately, it was not 2,000/50. in the information given, it stated that the plot would cost 5,000 and the club would pay 2,000. 3,000 is left among 50 members, thus each member pays 60 dollars.

^how you guys do those problems??? it was so confusing for me

@syndekit im not sure which question you’re talking about but I do agree with him that it was the fIRST time that guy saw the barn. I’m pretty sure I circled one answer that said he and his family went to pittsburgh every year…

yeah synd it was probably 3000/50 i dont remember how much the club would pay for, i just remember it was 5000 minus 2k or 3k then split into 50 people.

what percent is 20% of 50%

that one was 10%

dang, another reading one.

really? bc what i did was (.20)/(.50) n got 40%…

@nets360 - in math language, “of” means “multiply” .20*.50=.10

don’t you have a calculator? o.O and also If i filled 3/4 of an oval, will it not get counted?

@chipsahui the machine will probably pick it up if it was fairly dark and covered most of the circle, but if it was just a light smudge covering 3/4 of the circle it might not get picked up.

i dont know about you all but the science part was the end of me. i studied all summer just to get rapped by it. i honestly came home and started crying…

Definitely persuasive & unity.

As Will is rounding the corner on the road to the barn, he observes that the road will be big enough for the truck with the props and furniture. Wouldn’t he have already known this if they always hosted the play in the barn?
