I didnt move it. It wouldnt make sense to include a passage that defines and describes lace AFTER a passage that discusses lace but doenst elaborate on what it is.

Do you really lose a point for every question in the Science section until 30/31?

I thought if I got 3 wrong in Science I might still get a 34 but that’s probably wishful thinking…

for the first passage were there many A’s? i left that one for last and guess like 6 A’s

also straight from ACT website:

I remember having alternating Bs and Ds for the first reading passage.

@cortana

I think it was like:
- No, the passage didn’t talk about the economy; instead, it focused on producing and appreciating lace.
- No, the passage only briefly mentioned European economy.

I believe the answer was 1 because the passage never talked about European economy. Though the last paragraph talked about how the prices went down during the Industrial Revolution, this doesn’t discuss the economy, namely the European economy; instead, it just talked about the lowering of prices, and that too in the last paragraph, not even a body paragraph.

Just a thought…

No. The choices were it briefly discussed the economic aspects of lace and it never discussed economic aspects of lace. The other two answers were yes. Cortana is right.

@Syndekit

But where did it clearly state that it was the European economy?

Nothing to do with ‘Europe’ akshayp.

Syndekit got the two choices exactly right and the answer was briefly discussed.

Oh ok. I thought it said “European” somewhere in there but I guess I was wrong.

Also, The industrial Revolution begain in England before it occurred in the U.S. I believe the passage did mention europe, but it definitely didn’t say “european economy” and even if it did, as i said the industrial revolution started in england, which could have been the reference in the last paragraph.

Just saying, the answer may be the “briefly touched on” one, but the question definitely contained the term “European economy”.

@cortana

Yeah I’m familiar with the Industrial Revolution and its beginnings but (based on the assertion that the question contained “European economy” @princesssparkle) I don’t think the passage stated anything about Europe. Anyways, I understand that you could go either way with this question. Any other thoughts?

If I remember correctly the passage did touch on how the lace was more affordable to Europeans, or something like that. I kind of associated that with the economy, but I chose the answer that said the passage didn’t have any information about the economy because I wasn’t completely sure.

Although the question mentioned european ecnomy, the answers had nothing to do with European economy. If the answer stated “European,” I might have not selected “briefly discussed economy.” It did discuss economy in the passage, so briefly discussed is correct.

Was there a point in the passage where it discussed the economy, besides, possibly, the last paragraph?

Yes it talked about income of fisherman related to lace and the industrial revolution. It probably had more income information, but the info above was all that was necessary.

@Syndekit

Ok, if that’s true then it probably is “briefly touched”. Thanks! Was that information near the beginning of the passage? Cause I missed it…

It was near the end, right before the last paragraph.

It asked for positive and negative effects of lace on Europe’s economy. Where did the passage address this? The fact that the industrial revolution arrived was never associated with how it impacted Europe.

@PotatoMan

Are you sure it asked for positive and negative effects?
