@ Friedpenguins21:

I'm pretty certain it was both down. The force of the 20N weight was obviously downward (gravity) and he/she was pulling down the spring in order to level out the platform/rod with the weight on the other side.

was that the first choice or no
im trying to remember what i put for that one

English (36) - Got through in 25 minutes...checked it...halfway through checking it again before time was called. If it's not a 36, I will be crushed.
Math (30) - Oh my god...until question 40 or so, I was find...a few questions that looked hard, but once I worked through them, not so bad. The last 20 or so, though...oh wow...had to guess on like...8 of them...
Reading (34) - Didn't feel too great about it until reading through here...turns out I got a lot more than I thought. Went 25 minutes for the first two passages, then skipped the humanities one cause the bat one looked easier, then came back for it. Fairly well, I think.
Science (33) - Eh...I was rushed. Very rushed. But I think I did well. The metal content one got me a bit, but I figured out what the hell it was talking about afterwards.
Writing (12) - I liked it. I think I had everything I needed.

Overall, MUCH easier than I thought. I was getting 28's on my Barron's practice tests. Then again...it is Barron's, which is always super hard...

I thought that all of the answers were in the following format:

"A force pulls/pushes the lever ________ (down/up), and a force pulls/pushes the weight ________ (down/up)."

"I'm pretty certain it was both down. The force of the 20N weight was obviously downward (gravity) and he/she was pulling down the spring in order to level out the platform/rod with the weight on the other side."

There's no way could have been down. When he/she was pulling down on the lever, the applied force would be up.

It had to be up and down.

i put a
i remember they were both of something
so was a down and down
or up and up
i hope its not up and up TT or i dont know what i would have been thinking TT

@ Obama and KHz

The weight did give a downward force, but wasn't the question asking for the force on the weight. Since you pulled down on one side, the other side pushed up on the weight. So that was one force on it, which is acting upward. The force of gravity does act on it, but that isn't strong enough compared to the upward force of the device.

And I had a question about the english section. There was a question where two of the options were its or its'. Does anyone know which was the right one for that question, I know it was one of them two.

i believe it was its... its shows possession, it's is an abbrev for it is.

" its' " is not a word.

Good! I got that question right.

Hmm, you could be right Friedpenguins, but I guess it all depends on the wording of the question and I can't seem to remember exactly what it was asking. Oh well.

do you guys have any tips for actually finishing the science? i dominated everything but the science which i only got 2/3 through. i have great reading comprehension but i just cant follow the science properly

english: super easy
math: i'm surprised, i didn't finish on time and i usually finish before.
reading: surprised here too. I'm usually a slow reader but I worked out a system and i guess it really worked for me. before i didn't have time to read the last passage, this time i had time to check answers :)
science: easy overall except that last chemistry one; it murdered me! there were like 8 questions for it too! I had to guess for all of them. (i guessed c/g any chance i got any right?? haha)
writing: i think its easier if you take 5 min to plan then write.

^ Ibcc, science is easier if you take time to read everything. just skim as fast as you can. i'm a slow skimmer and i got all of it done, except that last one, of course.

question: did anyone take the feb. act? there's a series of questions on the math test that was EXACTLY the same thing. it's the one about the garden and how many plants you can plant in it if it has to have a 2 ft. radius.

ibcc...if you can think really quick on your feet...don't read the passage at all. Just head straight to the questions, and read only what the questions require you to. It's what I did, and I came out really well.

If you can't think that quick, take 2-3 minutes to read the passage thoroughly. You should be able to answer the questions very quickly afterwards. That doesn't work for me, cause I'll zone out. lol

On english, y'all said "barred from" and not "confined from", right?

yes it was barred from
i remember reading it with confined from and something sounded wrong

no...

i thought it was prevented?

English- very simple, maybe 2 or 3 I didn't know
Math- I thought it much easier than usual, but maybe I was thinking too simple
Reading- the HOV and HOT roads passage killed me, but the others were easy
Science- Had no clue what was going on with the soil, but got everything else
Writing- Worst topic I've ever had.. probably 8-9
Overall.. hopefully 30+

The cookie question about Mike...the answer was that he wasn't interested in gossip.

anyone remember any HOV or HOT questions?
that really killed a lot of students lol
