^^Wow, you’re such a “Ham”!

BTW, that uber car thing from MsMommy is an interesting tip. Never used it but am filing it away for future reference.

I’m a big fan of the subway. I love buying a week long unlimited use Metrocard every time I go to NYC even if I never use enough of the value to make it worth it vs. paying every time. Something about knowing I could just jump on without regard to “yet another $2.50” makes me feel very hip and cool and New Yorky.

Fairly sure I’m about to be banned from the forum. It is going to be your fault Marbleheader and I’m taking you down with me.
HAAA @ austinmt! I was lost until the “rockin the boat” line! LOL

sorry to spoil the fun but so far i hate this new CC format. Hard to follow. i can’t even get into my main name, ctl987 Very annoyed over here. Hope everyone is having a better time with this.

I am not a fan that the logo is so much bigger than the user name. Break legs to all this weekend, it really flies by faster than you think it will!!!

I agree, the user name is too small. But I suspect that we are going to be urged to put photos or avatars or something in place of that CC logo. I think I’ll just make a big image of my user name! I fervently hope they will not allow animations. I hate the forums that seem to twinkle because of all the animated GIFs.

I do like that we can like posts! But, yes, several issues this morning. I hope they get the bugs worked out soon.

I’m just a big chicken about all these changes. :D

i have been unable to even use this website for the last 2 or 3 hours because the server has been too busy, i had my ctl profile linked to my home computer so it would come up automatically whenever i got on CC. This new thing knocked out my profile, and since I can’t remember the password for that account, i can’t even make posts using my ctl account. I sent in request to change password and never got an e-mail to help me fix it. so very cranky over here :/. i also can’t find a help desk to help me fix this. and yes, i checked junk e-mail too. glad everyone else is having less frustrating time. and i’m having a harder time getting around this site and seeing where updates have been made in discussions i’ve been part of.

@glassharmonica - your picture! Lol!

@glassharmonica - I like the chicken better.

Aw! Maybe I’ll bring 'er back.

I’m thinking the search function seems to be a ton easier now. Jury is out but I think once we get used to the new format we’ll realize it is better.

Hi, not sure if I am doing this right. My D received a letter of acceptance from OCU ( BFA Acting) with a scholarship offer and they wanted to have a signed acceptance back by Jan 31,2014. She has several other schools she was waiting on decisions from, so she called OCU and was told she could sign it and it was only binding for them. Anyone else heard of this before?

Is there language in the acceptance letter stating that it is only binding for the school and not for your daughter? The official accept date is May 1st, but there are schools every year that try to push it and make kids accept early. They should not be doing this.

dramaqueenmom, this happened to my son at another program, we asked for a later date and when it was just not possible, ended up having to turn down the acceptance and the scholarship. This was very hard on my son, but he was not comfortable just accepting to accept, knowing that he might choose another school.

So is the May 1st date just a courtesy? Schools can demand an early date and take away offer if you don’t accept?

bisouu, this was covered in another thread, but I don’t remember which one. The National Association of College Admissions Counseling has a Statement of Principles of Good Practice. http://www.pnacac.org/assets/NACACdocs/statementprinciplesgoodpractice.pdf

Member schools agree to abide by its principles. The majority of colleges agree to accept the May 1. This does not include binding early admission or some other early admissions which have a different schedule up front. But under no circumstances do I feel it is ethically acceptable for a college to pressure a student out of the blue to accept far earlier than other colleges. There is only one reason for a college to do this, and that is that they don’t feel they can compete on a level playing field. I just think it’s a huge alarm bell.

Thanks connections…can a school remove an offer once it has been offered to a student?
