Congrats Vidushi!

seems like vidushi won't be accepted if he or she applied to Engineering.....

That's a nice thing to say.

Seems like vidushi doesn't care because he or she didn't apply to Engineering and was accepted. :)

Yes vidushi didnt apply for engineering so SHE desnt care..
haha Im glad I didnt neways.. dont plan to do nething wth engineering..
planning to major in psychology..so the College will do just fine!!

and well people why don't you as well know this that the university of Pennsylvania does allow students to be considered for their second choice school also .. as you must have stated in your application..

So if u still did apply to the SEAS u can still be accepted at The College if u did apply there as your 2nd choice

I dont at all UNDERSTND this SARCASM.. why the hell cant people relish others achievements.. i mean she got accepted in with those Sat's which goes on further to prove how great of an applicant she was.. Neither Penn or any top tier university has any dearth of applicants with 2300+ Sat scores but what they want are applicants with difference.. which they got..

I am sure they wud as well have accepted her in the engineering college SEAS but why should i even consider that possibility..

Isn't her acceptance already an accomplishment .. so instead of moaning about her maybe clever choice with the college or her greater chance of rejection at the School Of engineering we should celebrate her acceptance into the College

People at CC will just have to let go this fact in their minds that

:SAT SCORES DO NOT MAKE OR EVEN BREAK AN APPLICANT AT ALL..

Sat's are just A part of the applicants file and JUST THE part of it...

apologizes if i offend anyone in this posts as the comments really enrage me...

SM

^^^^ I agree...

":SAT SCORES DO NOT MAKE OR EVEN BREAK AN APPLICANT AT ALL.."

I used to think that last year. Big hopes with the colleges I applied to. Even Princeton. But yeah, my SATs were crap. Even with that, I kept my hopes going on strong with the idea that ECs and GPA will outweigh the SATs. Then, on d-day, decision-day, I was shocked to get rejected at all the US colleges including GAtech. This year, reapplying to Princeton (ED dammnit!) I got flat out rejected with mildly decent SATs. Vidushi must have had some rocking essays - which im sorry to say, most of us do not have no matter how much we think we have them - to have got in. Congrats!

why do you force yourself to think that they rejected you due to the sat scores...

did someone come over to tell you that dude since your sats are mildy decent ( or for last yr not decent at all) we are rejecting you.....

Well why do u think sats were the sole factor for your rejection that year and at princeton this year ... If that was the factor why wud their sat ranges still be starting from lower 1400's or even sumtimes in 1300's ...
well maybe you were never really able to compensate for your low sats with the ECs ( mayb u thought them to be gr8 yet the adcomms choose to disagree) and well GPA ( everyone has gr8 GPAs almost) ..

You cud as well have been last yr a mildy gud EC + excellent GPA combo which is pretty much filling the admission room even now..

If you have the accomplishments and psssion to prove your worth , NO College wud ever reject you with lower than normal sats ..

which goes ahead to prove my point...

SM

understandable, but midranges include internationals, locals and athletes. Recruits most often have lower SATs and grades, which pulls the midrange for SAT and GPA down. Int'ls accepted usually have higher SATs and higher standards are set for them.

oh lord i'm scared to death of decision day. what a great way to ruin spring break season senior year! hopefully only sending an ACT score won't come across negatively. my SAT scores were quite shameful

i have a wharton interview this weekend. any last minute tips before i make a fool of myself and get flat out denied on the spot?

best of luck dream_bschool!!

thanks callthecops2 and ronty007!

n Smarty.. i dont need to thank u.
haha

well...... u r soooooo BADDD... U definetely wud never need to T***k Me.. at all

SM

dream_bschool.. i have some tips for u..
1. have a positive attitude
2. be yourself and show ur passion for the school..
3. ask as much as u can about the university or school ur applying to..basically show interest.. dont forget to talk about urself as well.

thts bout it.... from me
best of luck

Best of luck Dream_bschool! :)

hahaha all of you are so nice and supportive =) thanks!

and well talk cool... chilled... just talk ur heart with proper censuring... Ask question and discuss .. dont interrupt while the interviewer speaks.. listen carefully.. be random n spontaneous .. and ask questions on the ongoing topic on questions..Show ur knowledge of school by telling about specific stuff wherever required and not every time..

Be open to any new idea.. or opinion even if u r strongly against it.. express ur thoughts with mild variety of phonetics..a little humor and laughter is imperative..

Moreover while u talk the time shouldn't be kept in mind.. talk as if its a ongoing thread at CC .. never ending. question made and topics created as and while u talk..

be honest and dont lie on anything..

last but not the least .. be confident and show that in ur eyes.. dont look here and there to distract attention..

And loads of more stuff like Pronunciations,, manners ,,courtesy,,humbleness,,clothing,,respect and ...........

This is basically stuff to be kept in mind daily also .. but well better as well keep them in mind for interviews..

SM

Thanks SM :)
