It would be a mistake to think this kind cronyism doesn’t go on in every state of the US.

moonchild

In Massachusetts it is in the culture though, at all levels of government, look up “Chappaquiddick Incident” in Wikipedia.

I think there are levels of cronyism everywhere…but when it involves the death of an innocent person (the brother), the crime should not have been swept under the rug…which it was.

It is remarkable that Massachusetts with a relatively small population garnered the most expensive highway project in US history.

That sounds pretty close to Chappaquiddick.

“It is remarkable that Massachusetts with a relatively small population garnered the most expensive highway project in US history.”

Well, that’s what ones get when ones’ state representative is the speaker of the house.

*It is remarkable that Massachusetts with a relatively small population garnered the most expensive highway project in US history. *

LOL…I thought West Virginia had that title via Sen Byrd.

Did any of you read the “found” file materials? Seems Amy was talking to the police at the station after the event when her mom walks in and says “no more questions” at which point Amy said she would not answer any more questions.

Also, the policeman attending the autopsy mentions that there was no spread (in the pellet pattern) due to how close the shotgun was fired. Also it talks about the wound being in the middle of the chest.

That means the shotgun was basically at the natural position to pull the trigger and fire while still having the most control over it. Amy would have been staring right at her brother when she hit him at such close range that there was no spread.

Also the police report said that when they apprehended Amy she had one shell chambered and another shotgun shell on her person and did not drop the shotgun until she had been told three times to drop it.

So why are we so fascinated with this woman? Because she’s a woman??

1) Because this situation is weird and getting weirder by the hour.
2) We want to make it to 1,000 posts on this thread.

07DAD, also there was a family “spat” before she went to her room and eventual acquiring of the shot gun. Would it be good to know what the “spat” was? I would if I was the police that was in charge of questioning her.

And her mother said the house was very soundproof such that she could not hear the first gun shot.

I find it interestnig that the retired Chief (?) Polio made this statement:

"Polio said he allowed officers to release Bishop on the day of the shooting because the lead investigator, Captain Theodore Buker, told him she was too emotional to interview. Buker recommended that the case be handed to the district attorney’s office because “there were too many questions,” Polio said. Buker remained on the case, but State Police were the lead investigators, Polio said. Polio said Buker, who has since died, told him the district attorney’s office had decided not to pursue the charges. Polio had no reason to question it at the time, he said yesterday. “I took the word of my captain, I took the word of the State Police,” he said. “All I know is that they investigated, they found it to be accidental and that was it.”

How convenient that Polio can place the blame for Amy Bishop’s release on the deceased Captain… when I thought Mr. POolio stated in an earlier interviwe that he “knew nothing about this incident”. hmmm… ;)

In the made-for-TV movie…

I think we now know who Jack the Ripper is.

Where do you work after Amy Bishop has shot you in the foot?

I hop

The booster seat was really for her husband who was cowering in the corner because he’s used to hearing her yell around the house, “I am Dr. Amy Bishop.”

I think that Pamela Smart would be another good choice to play AB.

Don’t know if this was posted yet. Unbelievable.

Some of Amy Bishop’s Students Had Petitioned to Remove Her
Husband of Alleged Campus Shooter Says University Community Should Be Investigated

By ASHLEIGH BANFIELD and SUSAN DONALDSON JAMES
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Feb. 17, 2010

More violent or unsettling behavior by alleged campus shooter Amy Bishop emerged today with revelations that she punched a mother in a restaurant over a child’s booster seat and some of her students petitioned to have her removed from class.

Despite the emergence of past complaints about Bishop, her husband suggested in an interview with ABCNews.com today that the academic community at the University of Alabama in Huntsville shares some of the blame for the carnage.

^^^The husband’s remark is quite disturbing. No matter what politics go on in an academic community, there is no justification for her solving her problems or vendettas through murder!

Here is the quote from the article linked above…attributed to Amy’s husband:

The whole situation with the brother is hard to believe it was not further investigated given all the facts that have come out now about it.

Also, wouldn’t someone who accidentally shot someone as close as their own brother, even if frightened and/or in shock, stay to tend to him and seek help, rather than run away (she wasn’t a little kid)? She threatened others with the gun to steal a car to get away as if “guilty” rather than concerned over her own brother’s well being.
