I had a 3.5 gpa and my act score was 22. I had varsity sports for all my years and co captain last year. I also had a full list of extra curricullars from clubs to student body to volunteer hours(80) at a youth organization to work at a jewelry and fashion company as an IT consultant. With a beautifully written essay. I got waitlisted to I believe economics and my back up major of public policy. Do I have a chance at the appeal should I even bother?
Ap’s since freshman year and honors classes
@shadelz: Has anything significant happened since you sent in your application? Has your GPA increased significantly, received an award or did you have a reason for a lower than average GPA but did not fully address your problem in one essays??? Appeals will be based on new and compelling information. If you have something to contribute not known at the time of your application, then you may have a reason for an appeal. If not, then the appeal will be a waste of time.
Just volunteer hours I forgot to put in and my gpa rose junior year and stayed that way
All you can do is try. If you don’t, you will never know if it is worth it…
@Gumbymom can appeals work just for a major boost of gpa? (3.7 weighted to 4.5) because in the ucla website it says a boost in gpa doesn’t mean u can appeal…and I would think every uc is similar?
