Should I do the optional questions if I have guaranteed admission?

ACT: 32
GPA: 4.58 weighted/3.97 unweighted
AP: took 6 out of 7 available
all gifted and honors classes (excluding electives)

For guaranteed admission to Tulane, you have to have a 31+ on the ACT, a 3.7 GPA, and you have to reside in Louisiana/enrolled in a LA high school.

I have a pretty good resume (committed to 9 clubs with officer positions in 2, have work experience, 200+ hours of volunteer work at Tulane Hospital, an internship at Ochsner, 1st place in the state for piano for 3 years, tutor, etc etc)

Do you think I should do the optional questions if the school guarantees that I will absolutely get accepted as long as I fit in their criteria? I’m applying ED. I’m getting mixed answers… some Tulane students are telling me not to waste time on those parts but some say to put at least something down. If I don’t put anything down, will I look bad to the school? I’m extremely interested in going to Tulane and have shown interest through tours and social media; I just have so much going on that I don’t know if I will be able to complete the optional portion on the common app in time.

My dad is also an employee through Tulane lol if that gives me an advantage in any way.

THANKS !!!

Yes. Do the additional questions. Never leave the door open for a snafu!

Do the optional questions. It may qualify you for the honors college or a scholarship for all you know.

Contact your admissions representative. This is a perfect way to start a dialogue, you certainly will not find the answer to this question on the website. I think no essay is better than “something”. You always want to show your best effort.

I think my most burning question to ask is: is there a possibility that they would reject me even though I meet the GA requirements?

Contact your admissions representative.
they can answer both questions better than anyone on this site
