I’m currently a senior and in second semester of Ap Statistics. Right now I have a 52% in the class due to poor understanding. I’m afraid if I continued with this class my GPA will look bad since I’m use to having a 3.6. I also plan on going into nursing so I don’t know if this class would be needed or helpful. I have gotten help but I just can’t understand it. Last year I passed the class with a C. I don’t know if this helps but my schedule has Ap Biology, sociology, P.E, senior english, Ap Statistics, and leadership.
I’m also wondering if dropping my AP Statistics class would affect my transcipt in any bad way?
Forgot to mention but I’m not taking this class for college credit nor am I taking the AP Statistics exam.
Will the colleges that you’ve applied to and gotten into rescind you if you drop the course? Can you raise your grade if you study hard or are your grades almost finalized?
I’d say drop it. The general rule is - keep your grades above a 3.0, no D’s or E’s.
You have an E - and a low one, too.
If you stick with the class and end with an E, you risk getting your acceptance rescinded, potential scholarships (that were given to you on the basis of your grades) and probably other stuff that I can’t think of.
But as Gatortristan said, you need to check around the colleges you got into before doing anything drastic - email them and ask what would happen if you withdraw from AP stats.
It’s mid March-- can it be dropped this late?
