Should I even BOTHER taking the SAT again (last minute)

So… I’m currently a Senior applying for colleges. So far, I have considerable pride in my academic stats. My GPA is amazeballs, my extracurriculars are not too shabby, and my essay kicks butt.
BUT… my SAT score is like… a so-so. It’s not BAD, but it’s not awesome.

Currently, my SAT score is 1460, with an 800 in math and 660 in E/W.

I want to pursue aerospace / mechanical engineering, so the colleges I’m looking at right now are…
Dream: MIT, Caltech, Cornell, CMU, UCB, Stanford
Maybe: GeorgiaTech, UCLA, etc

I already sent my EA app for MIT.

Oh, and here’s a brief look at my other stats.

GPA: 4.67 Weighted (5/502 students)
SAT II: 800 Math II, 700 Chemistry
AP: (5): World History, US History, English Language, Japanese
(4): Calculus BC, Chemistry
Senior Schedule: Multivariable Calculus, AP Gov / Macro, AP Lit, AP Physics I, AP Bio, Photography, Tennis

ECs:

  • I composed a concert band score for the school band
  • I created an English tutoring program at a high school in Japan
  • I founded the Patients in Need Club at my high school
  • I am the Vice President of a club that donates money to impoverished patients
  • I have over 200 hours of volunteering hours in my local hospital
  • I peer tutor in NHS
  • I had a summer internship at my district IT department
  • I have a part-time job at Kumon Learning Center
  • I compose scores for film clubs, projects, and the school bulletin
  • I take Multivariable Calculus at a community college
  • I am a varsity tennis player

I don’t have any super major awards; best are like AP scholar with Distinction, some local music composition awards, a Japanese Haiku award, and CSF.

For anyone who actually took the time reading this, thank you so much.
Based on what I have, is it worth it to give it another shot at the SAT on December? I seriously don’t want to take it again.
I already have an 800 in Math II, a 5 in AP English, and other high scores on other tests, so is it seriously a big problem that I have a 660 on the EW section in SAT?

Thanks!

I’m a senior this year too, but I’m gonna throw in my two cents anyways.
Is this your first SAT attempt? And if it isn’t, have you improved your score a lot over the previous attempts? If it’s your first attempt or if you’ve been raising your score by 30-40 points with each new attempt, you probably have a shot at improving it to at least a 1500 if you practice enough, and that really can make a difference.
However, ANY of this shouldn’t come at the cost of a reduction in gpa or less focus on essays an applications, in my opinion. As you’ve said, the rest of your application seems good, so don’t let that falter for something that you don’t know for sure is gonna improve.
In any case, if you really feel you have a shot at major score improvement, will still maintain your gpa, other stats, essay quality, etc, and if you WANT to do it, go for it.

Is that 1460 a superscore or a single test?

The EBRW is low for MIT, Caltech, and CMU. Not sure about the other schools. If you think you can improve the verbal section, then re-taking and submitting everything for a superscore makes sense. You will need to make sure you are adhering to deadlines, of course - for instance, it’s probably too late for MIT EA but if deferred perhaps you can submit additional test scores at that time.
