should i just go to Stamford

I was recently accepted/denied to UCONN where i got in but they sent me to the regional campus in Stamford. I was wondering how long it would take me before i could transfer over to Storrs? some one told me that their friend ended up going to a different school and transferred to UCONN after only one semester, so i want to know could i do the same through UCONN stamford or would it take me longer?

You can transfer after a semester. Your regional campus courses will transfer seamlessly to the Storrs campus.

For transferring after a semester, what is looked at to be accepted to the Storrs campus?
Previous high school grades? Or just how well you do during the one semester?

Doesn’t UConn have a summer session? Maybe you could ask about that?

[Undergraduate Transfer Admission | UConn](http://web.uconn.edu/transfer/requirements.html)

Just start taking general education courses. You will need to get those out of the way, anyway.

I called Uconn today because I was admitted into the Waterbury campus instead of the Storrs campus. They told me I must complete 2 years at the Waterbury campus before transfering to the Storrs campus.

But I did look on the website and found this - “Students with less than two years of college are evaluated on the basis of high school and college work; i.e., high school average and class rank, SAT or ACT scores, quality of academic courses, and college performance to date.”

If you have questions you should give them a call.

@ future college , well i have talked to a few people in the past week, one is a current student at Uconn stamford who told me some majors can transfer in less time but must first meet the specific requirements, such as my major is computer science, so he told me i would need a minimum of a 3.0 and have completed both calcus and gen chem before i am eligible to transfer.

another woman who is an ex/ guidance counsler told me that i dont need to wait 2 years as long as i get a GPA of 3.5 or better after the first semester, for the academic achievement would make me eligible to transfer after a year or less

in the end i havent really found a solid answer, i guess im just going to ask someone when i go to their open house, and if in the end the only option is taking 2 years there, im just going to go to easternCSU ( accepted ) and transfer after the first semester which so far has worked for 3 of my friends

It’s easier to transfer earlier from a different school, besides the branch campuses?
Like if I go southern, I would have a better chance transferring after a semester than I would at Uconn Great Hartford?

Hey guys!! :)

I was wondering the same question, it’s urgent that I know what to do. I was accepted into ACES at at UCONN Stamford, but I wanted to go for a specific kind of business major. When is the earliest that I can transfer to Storrs, not just to the Business School up there, but just to be there??

When I asked, they said only business majors transfer after they finish 54 credits, which usually takes four semesters(2 years). What if I fullfilled the 54 credits in 3 semesters (1 and a half years)???

Any response will be great! Just please help me

Same here. I ended up in my safety school–Waterbury campus–and I want to transfer after the fall semester.

For those of you accepted at regional campuses, what was your college gpa when you applied?
