Should I retake 780 or 790 SAT Chem & Physics if I'm applying for CMU

It seems like got

10 blanks & 1 wrong on Physics in October (probably 780 - 800)

and

2 blanks & 1 wrong on Chem in October (probably 780)...

If I want to apply for Carnegie Mellon Electrical Engineering, will 780s or 790s decrease my chance a lot?... Or should I retake them for 800?

You’re fine. I think it would just make you look too score-obsessed if you retook them.

You’re…joking, right? If you aren’t, then you need to get over yourself, my friend – I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Those scores are absolutely fine, you need a serious chill pill. Instead of retaking them, you need to go outside, talk to people, maybe make some new friends and join the real world where a 780 is a great score…especially if you aren’t applying to HYP.

*** how do you know your score already?

It’s just prediction, just based on the discussion here and with my friends.

BTW I’m not applying to any Ivies; I’m applying to UIUC, University of Michigan, and RPI(If could, Stanford too). Is it necessary to get 800s for applying them…?

Are you kidding? Retake a 780? (Which, by the by, you might not get)
Don’t be ridiculous. NO ONE needs to retake a test if you score that high.

780 and 790 are excellent. and dont be so sure you got a 780 and 790 :)

Thanks you guys anyway, I won’t retake it if I get a 780+ :)
