Should I retake?

My first time taking the SAT, I got a 1770 (M: 560, CR: 560, W: 600). The second time was an 1860 (M: 550, CR: 600, W: 700). I retook it for scholarship/honors programs & my new score is a 1960 (M: 560, CR: 630, W: 770).

However, my M+CR score didn't go up enough to get into the honors program at the school I will likely be attending (I missed it by 10 points). Is it worth retaking it to try to get into honors? Plus, I'm so close to an 800 in the writing section that it's painful.

Thoughts?

The honors class, all cut-offs should be ±20 points, since SATs are more than unpredictable/consist of luck a lot of the times. You should talk to your counselor, and convince him. That way, you won’t have to retake. If you really need to, then do so, but if you don’t feel good about your sores - probably cancel them.
