Should I send both of my SAT scores?

I am currently a freshman at a local state university, planning on applying to Smith as a sophomore transfer for the Fall of 2019. My high school standardized test scores were pretty awful: 970 on the SAT and 23 on the ACT. Since my weighted gpa in high school was only 3.6, to make up for it, I studied during the summer and retook the SAT right before college this August and scored a 1340. I know that since I am already in college, my college gpa is going to have the heaviest weight in my application, but looking at previous transfer threads, it seems like girls who sent their SAT scores tends to get accepted.
Since 1340 is on a very low end for Smith, do you think that it might somewhat help me if I send my 970(which I took at the end of junior year in hs) as well so that they could see how much I ‘improved’?

If Smith is test optional for transfer students I would not send the SAT. The SAT is meant to be a test for high school students – they likely won’t be impressed by a score on the low end (looks like it is around the 25th percentile) for the school that you got as a college student.

Admissions officers don’t give out most improved awards. They need to assess your ability to do the work at their particular college and I don’t think that a below average SAT (especially when that test was taken as a college student) will help your case. FWIW I’ve heard admissions for a number of test optional colleges suggest that applicants send standardized tests only if the scores are at or above the average for the college.

Just to clear things up, I am not saying that everyone who sends their sat scores gets accepted, and that the deciding factor is just test scores and gpa. I just have seen some people getting denied with high college gpa who did not submit their sat score but there were others with around the same gpa but submitted their sat scores who got in. I hope I made sense haha and thank you in advance!

Okay, thank you so much for your feedback! Looks like I won’t be sending my scores and I will focus on other things.
