Should I take Spanish 3 instead of Yearbook?

So I took Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 in my freshman and sophomore years but I was stupid and thought I didn't need a 3rd year so I didn't take it my junior year. I regret not taking it the 3rd year and since UCs recommend 3 years of foreign language I feel that I should take that 3rd year my senior year. The thing is my schedule. I already have 5 classes and I don't want 6 classes my senior year. Here are the classes I will be taking this year: Civics/Econ, Honors English/Anatomy/Trigonometry/Yearbook. Should I take Spanish 3 instead of Yearbook? Or should I just suck it up and take b

Or should I just suck it up and take both? Btw, I plan to major in nursing.

Unless you have a pretty good reason for not wanting 6 classes your senior year, you should suck it up and take both. Having the third year of Spanish will be significant for UC admissions, and you’ll feel bad about giving up yearbook for it.

I have the same issue minus the yearbook thing.
Spanish 3 is not a must have class, it just helps your app be more competitive but it looks like you have other things going on like yearbook so don’t stress.

I don’t want 6 classes because I want to get out earlier. Stupid reason right? But then if I get out earlier I could do volunteering but it’s not like it’s everyday.

I don’t think it’s a huge deal either way, but you really aren’t at the point yet where you should be sacrificing future potential for an easier life now.

That’s very true. Thank you!

If you eventually want to be a nurse, then Spanish 3 will be necessary for your job, where yearbook will only be necessary for your hobbies. A friend told me that Spanish was the “only” high school subject that he uses on a daily basis at work (he is a physician).

And also, if I take yearbook this year it will be my 2nd year in that class.

Your message has raised some other questions.

Will you be a yearbook editor this year? That would be an excellent activity.

If you’re just taking trig as a senior, will you have the background for a nursing program? Have you taken physics and chemistry?

Do you have experiences that have introduced you to patient care?

Nursing programs are very competitive now, and many qualified students are on waiting lists. Please be sure you have a strong science background when you apply.

No, at my school there are no editor & etc. We are all the same. We all do the same things.

Yes I have taken chemistry but not physics.

No, but I will be volunteering at my local hospital if that’s what you mean?
