I received my scores from the November SATs. I scored a 1540, which isn't great to say the least. This Saturday I'm going to take the ACT, but I'm sure I'll do horribly in the math and science section, since English is my only forte.

Should I take the ACT so colleges will see that I'm making an effort?

Or should I not take them? That way, I wouldn't make myself look worser than I have with the SATs?

I appreciate it a bunch.

Are you a junior, cause if so then you have lots of time to raise your sats. You could deffinetly try the ACts as well though.

Well, I'm a senior. The time element is REALLY hurting me, considering the fact I have my hands full with all sorts of things.

TAKE THE ACTs. You never know how you will do. I did so much better on the ACTs even though I practiced endlessly for SATs, took a prep class for SATs, read those SAT vocab-building novels, etc. And I never touchedan ACT book in my life and didn't know how it was formatted and got a 32.

If you don't do well, then just don't send the scores..simple as that

Hmm. Kay <3
Got it.

Ah. What disappointment does to the mind. It clouded my judgment.

The science section isn't so bad. I got a 36 the first time with no practice :)

I didn't have great SAT scores earlier coming into this year. I'm a senior and I took the SAT's in May and got a 1720 (680 M, 510 W, 530 CR), then again in October and got a 1710 (630 M, 560 W, 520 CR). However, then I took the ACT's in October and got a 30 (~2000) and then took the SAT's for the last time in November and got a 1960 (750 M, 650 W, 560 CR.

I say take the ACT and also take the SAT again if you can. You will probably improve especially if you prepare for either. Good luck.
